Mid-July.

"Youming, thank you for what you did before!"

In the classroom, Lian Youming was looking through his notes when someone beside him suddenly spoke.

He turned to see a female classmate in a long pink plaid dress sit down at the neighboring desk, carrying a lunch box. She looked bashful, her voice soft and low, her head lowered in unease.

"What's going on?"

Lian Youming was utterly bewildered.

He had only just returned to school.

After all, he was almost a third-year student, yet had only attended for half a year. He couldn't keep relying on his double forever.

But he had barely sat down that morning before someone came over to talk to him.

The girl paid no attention to his reaction. She put down the lunch box, turned, and hurried out. She wasn't even from his department.

"Tsk, tsk. Just what you'd expect from our department's celebrity. Isn't she the prettiest girl in the foreign languages department?"

"You'd better keep yourself in check, Lian. I heard you're married. You can't go fooling around."

"If you ask me, Classmate Song just came to thank our talented Lian. If he hadn't helped her the night before last, who knows what those thugs might have done?"

Listening to the chatter around him, Lian Youming kept his face impassive, but felt a little uneasy inside.

The department beauty? Fooling around? What on earth are they talking about?

Ignoring the strange, jealous looks from those around him, he hurriedly opened the diary his double had given him and skimmed rapidly through the recent entries.

Only after he understood what had happened did he breathe a quiet sigh of relief.

Thank goodness.

It had only been a simple helping hand.

Yet for some reason, Lian Youming felt as though he had overlooked something.
