"Duel!"
"Duel!"
Both voices rang out together, and the Bone Duel Disk on Summoned Skull's arm lit up purple first.
Yūki's Duel Disk unfolded right after it, blue patterns lighting up along its card slots one by one.
Invisible rules spread out from between them.
Loose stones on White Stone Slope slowly floated into the air, while the battlefield's cries of battle were pushed into the distance.
A ring of pale blue light appeared beneath Yūki's feet, lifting him steadily into the air until he stopped level with Summoned Skull.
Snowstorm Princess looked up, then backed away to the side with her ice hammer in her arms.
"Little master can fly now too."
"It's temporary."
Yūki glanced down at his feet. "Positioning service provided by the duel rules. It expires when the duel ends."
Summoned Skull spread its wings, purple lightning coursing between their membranes.
"Human, you will pay for your arrogance! I will tear your Deck to shreds, torment your soul for three days and three nights, then offer the despair that remains to Lord Antihop!"
Its voice shook the loose stones on the slope.
Yūki had already placed his hand on top of his Deck.
"I'll go first."
"You..."
Summoned Skull's next prepared threat caught in its throat.
It had still been proclaiming its god's majesty, yet its opponent had used that opening to claim the first turn.
"Despicable human! You would even scramble for the first turn! Your soul deserves nothing but to wail in despair!"
"If I don't take the first turn, am I supposed to let you set up?"
Yūki drew a card. "My turn. Draw!"
Both players' Life Points lit up at the same time.
