A Refined Scholar of the Cold received its second front-page feature, and it happened to coincide with the joyous day of young Chen's wedding. A double blessing at the door! No, since he was marrying two brides, it ought to be called a triple blessing at the door.
A Refined Scholar of the Cold was first uploaded on September 21 last year, went on sale on November 1, and received its first front-page feature on December 7. A year later, it was given a second opportunity. A second feature was a great honor, an acknowledgment by Qidian Website of this book's achievements. Here, I, Xiaodao, thank all the readers who bookmarked and subscribed to A Refined Scholar of the Cold. You gave me all of this. Without your support, A Refined Scholar of the Cold could not have lasted until now. For over a year, I was tormented by illness and troubled by the plot. It was the readers' enthusiastic encouragement that kept this old ox of a Xiaodao dragging the cart that was A Refined Scholar of the Cold forward, step by step, to where we are today-
Let me tell you an amusing story from the past. When I was in my second year of junior high, five out of eight candidates were to be selected as Model Students at the end of the term, and I was one of the candidates. Our class was very democratic: the whole class voted, with one ballot per person, each bearing five classmates' names. I had a diehard supporter who filled an entire ballot with my name. The teacher was absent at the time, and when that ballot came up during the reading and tallying of votes, I suddenly gained a whole five-stroke tally mark. Though my classmates found it strange, cowed by my tyrannical might, not one of them raised an objection. Thus I was elected a Model Student, the only time in all my dozen-plus years as a student-
Writing these remarks today, I suddenly remembered that incident and threw back my head in wild laughter. That was a lucky bit of cheating, whereas the achievements of A Refined Scholar of the Cold were built up from readers' genuine clicks, recommendations, monthly votes, and tips, one at a time. Whenever I fought for monthly votes, many readers cast the full five votes, then switched to another account to vote again when they could vote no more. And there were readers who tipped generously out of love for A Refined Scholar of the Cold. These were diehard supporters; these were my lovely readers. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I must also give thanks for providing A Refined Scholar of the Cold with such a platform, thank Boss Hu Shuo of Group Four, thank my former editor Hong Cha and my current editor Miss Dong Gua, and thank Deng Ken, Miss Yezi, and Miss Cheng Zi. Thank you for your encouragement and support.
Finally, in celebration of this triple blessing at the door, I'm asking for subscriptions and votes of every kind. I want to be a Model Student!
I recommend my fellow townsman's hot-blooded fantasy novel Star River in a Surge of Qi, as well as my own completed novel The Royal Entertainment Guide.
