Dick threaded his way through the low woods. The closer he got to the little hill, the clearer the sounds of fighting became. He could see it clearly: beneath the hillside was a mine, and the sounds were coming from inside.

The Paladin flexed his left hand. He did not think anything in Duskwood could threaten him, but the strange aura coming from the mine felt familiar. It was exactly like the aura of the Moon Priestesses casting spells during the Battle of Mount Hyjal!

The boy following the Paladin looked excited, a flush rising in his yellow complexion. The approaching battle had clearly thrilled him. Whatever kind of boy he might be, deep down he had that violent streak that revered combat, and Med'an was no exception.

Retribution Aura was activated as well, and a golden arc formed along Gorehowl's blade.

Meryl had taught Med'an well. At least in combat, the boy already carried himself like a properly trained Mage. He cast three layers of magical shields on himself, though nervousness still made him grip his wand and shortsword tightly, and his breathing grew heavy.

The winding mine tunnels were difficult to navigate, but after the third bend, the deepest part of this little mine came into view before Dick and Med'an.
