Come to think of it, Archimonde's aim with that casual toss had been remarkably good. He had thrown Dalaran straight to the edge of the Dalaran Plains, very close to the Alterac Mountains. The landing of that cataclysmic boulder had completely transformed the surrounding terrain!
The entire plain seemed to have had a crater smashed into it. Remember, Dalaran's underside was an extremely hard stone cone, while the Great Demon had flattened every building on top. Like an enormous nail driven straight into the earth, it had formed something resembling a "mushroom platform"!
The Naga soon cleared a patch of ground atop the Dalaran platform. Working busily, the Naga mages used the Violet Barrier's ley lines as a foundation to construct a large Energy-Gathering Magic Circle!
These Naga mages had all been Highborne back in the day. In terms of magical finesse, they were far superior to the High Elves of Quel'Thalas! They finished these modifications very quickly.
