Alleria's Stronghold was a fortress built by Alleria herself, one of the five heroes of Outland, at the head of an elven Expedition Force. Deep in the Bone Wastes, it formed a defensive pincer with Shattrath City, guarding against the Army of the Dead that might charge out at any moment from the ruins of the Auchenai city destroyed in the great catastrophe.
Shattrath no longer had the splendor it had once enjoyed as the center of Draenor. The naaru and the soldiers loyal to them still held out there, but frankly, Shattrath City was not on the front lines. At most, it was a transportation hub, so its military strength was not actually very great. Though there was no written agreement, the powers active on Draenor had indeed come to treat Shattrath as a large supply point. Whether they were the various warbands, the Illidari, or the Guardians who had only just entered this world, they could all find what they needed in Shattrath.
Nor had the warriors loyal to the naaru sat idly by. They had reorganized the Shattered Sun Burning Legion and Shattrath's Skyguard, which were likewise active in support roles on the various battlefields against the demons, winning some prestige for Shattrath.
The naaru seemed quite satisfied with this state of affairs. They even allowed Demon Hunters to move freely within the city. Of course, given Outland's current situation, there was certainly no shortage of scoundrels and good-for-nothings unwilling either to fight or to kill themselves. Shattrath's Lower City, once a gathering place for exiles of every race, had reopened, and this time, it had truly become a rubbish dump no one wanted to visit.
