Nothing major happened in year 27 of the Dark Portal. In fact, the various parties tacitly suppressed news of the demonic invasion of Draenor at the end of year 26.
Ordinary people did not care about a war in another world. Even if losing might mean losing their own world along with it, they still did not care. No matter how bad things got, some twenty-five-person Progression Team or badass adventurers would always turn up from who knew where to deal with everything.
All they knew was that at the end of year 26, the world's leaders held another conference in the newly rebuilt Menethil Harbor. Even the leader of the Deepsea Kingdom attended. Afterward, the world stepped back from the brink of war and returned to peace.
On the surface, at least.
The Orcs finally brought the Blackrock Orcs under the Horde's rule, after Stormwind City's army had battered them so badly that they had been forced to retreat to the Swamp of Sorrows to recuperate. For this, Thrall and the Goblin Consortium had to pay the Alliance a large sum in compensation.
At the same time, a final ruling was reached on the friction between the Night Elves and the crazed Blackrock Orcs. The Orcs handed over seventeen Blackrock Orcs who had instigated the hostilities to the Night Elves and pulled their defensive line in Azshara back several dozen kilometers.
Frankly, this was merely a formality for the Night Elves, whose anger had already been roused, because they had killed all the culprits during their counterattack in Ashenvale. Fortunately, persuaded by the other leaders, the Night Elves' leadership ultimately abandoned their plans to pursue the matter further.
After the Naga returned to the world and joined the power game, Tyrande and Malfurion knew very clearly what took priority.
