Still within that illusory Starworld, everyone stared intently at Sargeras's indistinct back.
Azshara's startled cry made Velen and Maraad turn toward her. Noticing their gazes, the queen realized she had lost her composure. She coughed, then explained,
"These two children were very famous in the Kaldorei Empire under my rule. They are the Stormrage brothers, those shameful betrayers and thieves!"
By the end, Azshara was practically gritting her teeth, but at least she had explained the facts. Velen turned his gaze toward Dick with a hint of inquiry, and Dick nodded slightly, conveying,
"Yes, the Lord of Outland... Illidan Stormrage and his brother, Malfurion Stormrage."
The prayer beads in Velen's hand suddenly began turning faster. He began considering the relationship between the Lord of Outland and this prophecy. In truth, Velen also found it somewhat absurd... How could that thug Illidan have such a connection to this world's future? How had he even drawn the Mother of the Holy Light's attention?
But the images before them kept moving, from the Stormrage brothers' birth to their childhood with Tyrande, then their study of druidic spells under Cenarius, and finally Illidan being reprimanded by Cenarius.
The images stopped at that moment, and the Mother of the Holy Light's voice rang out again,
"Everything the Child of Light and Shadow suffered was twisted, including his mentor's reprimands, his brother's estrangement, his beloved's departure, and the world's misunderstanding. None of this should have existed."
Dick curled his lips into a disdainful, mocking smile.
If Illidan had not experienced all of this, would he still have become who he was today? Even setting that aside, if Illidan's fate had not been altered, could he really have smoothly become the Chosen One, the Child of Light and Shadow Xe'ra spoke of?
