"Tap, tap, tap."
The low sound rang through the dark hall, mingling with the scrape of the great doors being pushed open. It was somewhat rough, yet in this utterly silent place, it seemed so jarring and conspicuous.
This was not Kil'jaeden's first time entering the deepest reaches of Antorus, stepping into this hall shrouded in darkness, but one thing was certain: the great demon absolutely did not want to come here.
Kil'jaeden's wings were folded behind his body, his crimson tail swishing back and forth, betraying his displeasure. The confrontation in Krokuun had lasted forty days! Forty damned days! Yet the place remained impregnable. Kil'jaeden had even tried attacking in person, but Velen and Dick together had sent him back empty-handed three times.
The Mac'Aree Ruins had also been breached. Although the War Council, dispatched in an emergency, had retaken the most important portal area three hours later, the place had already suffered extensive damage. And somehow, those Death Knights had persuaded the obstinate Army of the Light. Now those rats in hiding had come out in full force as well... war had broken out in Mac'Aree.
"What a dreadful situation!"
The Deceiver walked through the darkness, a trace of savagery and helplessness flashing through his dark green eyes. Though he greatly disliked Archimonde, he now wished desperately that the fellow were still alive, or at least could revive quickly, because the lack of top-tier combat strength was the most important reason for these forty days of humiliating defeats!
The expedition to Draenor had cost the Burning Legion high-ranking demon warlords such as Mannoroth, Brutallus, and Kazzak, a crippling loss in itself. Several years ago, Medivh had used the last of his strength to lure Archimonde to his death in the Void, and he still had not fully revived.
