When Tirion Fordring saw what I had brought back, he was so excited he could barely contain himself.
But he was a man tempered by war, after all, and soon calmed down.
He handed me a badge.
"I need to make some preparations. Take this to Chillwind Camp and find Mirlanda the witch. She's a friend of mine, and she'll help you enter Hearthglen. I'll wait for you in the forest outside Hearthglen. Take this letter and these things, my friend. Only you can slip past the Scarlet Crusade's defenses at Hearthglen without a sound. All you need to do is give these things to my son. I believe-I believe Taelan will make the right choice."
I nodded.
I might as well see my good deed through to the end. Besides, it was only a delivery quest, with no need to take any risks, so I simply agreed.
I also really wanted to see what sort of person the child Tirion Fordring missed so dearly had grown into, and whether he was as upright as his father.
So when I headed for Hearthglen with the potion Mirlanda had given me, I kept feeling as though I was about to uncover the answer to a mystery.
On another note, Mirlanda was a gnome. I was very curious how Tirion Fordring had become friends with an old gnome woman, especially a witch. Hell, a witch who lived in a graveyard. Apparently, she had once belonged to the Order of the Silver Hand too. I really wondered how many members of other races that remarkable organization had.
Just like last time, I slipped silently past the Scarlet Crusade's defenses. Tirion Fordring had been right: Hearthglen was now one of the Scarlet Crusade's main bases in these plague-ridden lands. Its defenses were incredibly complex.
