"So you're agreeing to be with me?" Xu Ran swept Han Xue into his embrace, wrapping both arms tightly around her delicate body.
Compared with Xu Ran's broad frame, Han Xue was as soft and delicate as a kitten.
"Then what about my sister?" Han Xue shot Xu Ran a look but did not refuse, evidently accepting it by default.
The Hong Family had once wanted both her and Han Yue to marry Hong Chen. Now, however, Xu Ran had reaped that enormous benefit instead.
"She'll be with me too, of course. Surely you don't want me to abandon your sister?"
"If you dare abandon my sister, I'll never speak to you again." Han Xue felt reassured. If Xu Ran truly did something like that, she would never accept him again. If Xu Ran abandoned someone else, then one day he would abandon her too.
Still, Han Xue could not quite swallow her resentment. Being with Xu Ran meant she would have to live with all those older sisters. Han Xue imagined herself calling every woman she met "big sister," and goosebumps immediately rose all over her.
"You big scoundrel, I'm going to bite you."
Her pearly teeth sank deep into Xu Ran's skin. Han Xue showed no mercy.
"Go ahead. Even if you bite me to death, I won't let go." Xu Ran acted like a dead pig unafraid of scalding water.
"You scoundrel, have you ever actually liked me? I keep suspecting you've never truly liked me." Han Xue gazed deep into Xu Ran's eyes, feeling somewhat afraid.
She had not known Xu Ran for long, and so much had happened during that time. Even though she had now agreed to be with him, her heart was still in turmoil.
"Of course I like you, my darling Xue'er."
