Chapter 491: Opportunity
Tetsu no Sosuke was far faster than Kibutsuji Muzan had expected.
Muzan had thought he could catch Sosuke without much effort. Instead, they stayed locked in pursuit.
Neither gained much ground. In speed, at least, Muzan found he could barely keep up.
"A mere human!"
The realization only made Muzan angrier.
Sosuke never looked back. He just ran, and he chose his route carefully.
Throughout his frantic flight, he kept to places where no one lived.
Barren mountains, empty wilderness, desolate old roads seldom traveled.
They ran from midnight until dawn. Muzan seethed, feeling like a dog dragged along on a leash as Sosuke led him around all night.
Only when the sky began to brighten did Sosuke show signs of exhaustion.
He stopped in the sunlight. Muzan halted in the shadows and stared coldly at him.
Sosuke smiled faintly. "See? You're not as strong as you think."
"If I'm not as strong as I think, why did you run?" Muzan demanded.
Sosuke smiled. "Strength has many sides. In speed, at least, you can't beat me. I'm human. My body has limits. But you don't... You have no limits, yet you still can't beat me. Doesn't that make you wonder if there's something wrong with you?"

"You're perfect, my ass." Sosuke rolled his eyes. "You're not perfect. You're finished. A complete failure of a creature."

Muzan laughed in fury. "You've succeeded in angering me."
