Kokushibo was still alive. No matter what it took, Tetsu no Sosuke had to keep Form One going. Whatever the cost, he had to keep it going!
He drew a sharp breath. Gale Sun flowed into Gale Sun, then another Gale Sun, and yet another.
Snow churned across the ground. Dirt and broken stones flew as the earth began to cave in. Blood seeped deep into the soil, mingling with everything else. A roar burst from Tetsu no Sosuke's throat, perhaps without him even realizing it—a beast's cry, filled with the resolve to fight to the death.
Even Akaza stared, dumbfounded.
He had never imagined this could happen!
Kokushibo couldn't fight back at all? Why?
More importantly, why had Kokushibo's sword broken?
The thought flashed through his mind, but he had no chance to dwell on it. Every Pillar around him was terrifyingly strong. One on one, he wasn't afraid. Two on one, he could manage; with enough effort, he might even win. Three on one would be a hard-won victory at best. Four on one... come on, give him a break.
Wouldn't it have been nice to stay home, eat a few people, and drink some blood?
Why come out here and fight to the death? Wasn't it exhausting?
What he had counted on was much the same as Tetsu no Sosuke's plan.
They would strike suddenly, kill Tetsu no Sosuke—or cripple him and turn him into a demon. Then, with two Upper Ranks facing the Pillars, their chances of winning would be much better.
But what happened? Kokushibo showed up and got pinned to the ground and pummeled by Tetsu no Sosuke.
It was like someone had handed them the wrong script. Had those two swapped roles?
Wasn't Kokushibo supposed to be the one grinding Tetsu no Sosuke
