As that thought surfaced, he calmly picked up the Sunflare Hammer and stepped out of his room. Winter had yet to pass, and the cold air stung his skin, making Tetsu no Sosuke frown.
When he reached the entrance, Big Hammer stood up. Tetsu no Sosuke swung onto the wolf's back. Big Hammer was about to let out a howl to show off his might, but Tetsu no Sosuke clamped his muzzle shut.
"Keep it down. My wife's sleeping." He knocked Big Hammer on the head irritably, and Big Hammer immediately whimpered, looking utterly wronged.
His four paws flew as he raced away. In moments, they were out of the Hammer Hut and heading toward the old site.
The two places really weren't far apart.
After about an hour of running at full speed, Big Hammer reached their destination.
The place had been all but destroyed by those demons.
Far too many bizarre creatures had come that night, in every shape and form, each with different abilities and varying degrees of sanity. Once they got going, it had truly been demons running wild.
Some had climbed onto the houses, others had torn them down—there were too many to count.
By now, the place no longer looked remotely fit for anyone to live in. Even Tetsu no Sosuke, who had not been back since his injury, stared in a daze for a long while.
"Why does this place feel so unfamiliar?"
