So its arm suddenly grew back at the last moment. The whole thing must have taken less than a minute, right?
As Tetsu no Sosuke thought about it, he frowned.
One thing seemed clear: the ability to suppress Demon Regeneration had to come from sunblaze!
But the difference in recovery times between the two wounds puzzled him.
After thinking it over, the most reasonable explanation seemed to be that the blade lacked enough sunblaze.
The blade's sunblaze could prevent small wounds from healing, but its effect seemed too weak to hold back the recovery of larger wounds.
For a Demon, the power used to heal different wounds probably varied too. A large wound should take longer to heal, but the regenerative power brought to bear on it was far greater than for a small wound.
That stronger regeneration working against the same suppressive effect from sunblaze might explain why the larger wound had healed faster than the smaller one.
"But that's still just a guess. How could a human understand Demons so easily?"
Tetsu no Sosuke's brow tightened. "The only thing I really understand is blades. To test this theory, I'd have to forge a weapon with an extremely high sunblaze attribute and see what happens. But... that would be too hard!"
Chapter 25: The Price
The reason he could not do it was simple.
As with toughness, the early stage of Shaping was when that attribute increased. Past that point, he could only spread it out, reducing it.
Sunblaze, meanwhile, increased most during the removal of impurities.
And it would not increase at all unless he used Gale Sun from the Breath of the Sun.
That was where the problem lay. With Gale Sun, he removed impurities so quickly that the step ended before he could gain much sunblaze,
