"Damn it!"
Upper Moon Six's roar echoed over the village. "You're despicable! What kind of swordsmen are you? If you have any honor, face me one-on-one! Use the swords in your hands and show me your warrior spirit! These filthy tricks have gone too far!"
Tetsu no Sosuke was at a loss for words. He glanced at the Wind Pillar and the others. Apart from the Wind Pillar, none of them seemed moved at all.
He gave a helpless smile. "Why worry about fairness when you're dealing with a demon? Letting you go on eating people for the sake of fairness would be the real joke."
The Wind Pillar nodded at once. "Whatever else I might say, I agree with that!"
"..." Tetsu no Sosuke had thought the Wind Pillar would object.
Apparently, the man was not as stubborn as he had imagined. Or was he not stubborn at all? Then what had that expression been earlier, when he'd seemed so moved by all that talk of warrior spirit?
The Serpent Pillar stepped forward. "Enough talk. The prison cart is here."
At the end of the street, the Hidden members who had received the signal had brought a prison cart.
Tetsu no Sosuke went over and hauled Upper Moon Six up by the collar. When he tried to speak again, Sosuke asked a nearby swordsman for an unused iron skewer and drove it up through his chin, pinning his tongue and piercing straight through his skull.
"Be quiet. You'll have a chance to talk when the time comes. I only made these iron skewers today, you know. Fresh off the forge. Enjoy."
Tetsu no Sosuke threw him into the prison cart. "Move out!"
