Just as he was about to hit the ground, Akaza slammed his left hand down and sprang back into the air. He looked up, only to lose sight of Tetsu no Sosuke again.
All he could sense was a chilling fighting spirit bearing down on him from behind.
Without looking back, he lunged forward.
In that brief interval, his right hand, which had been obliterated, had mostly regenerated. Only the skin was still growing back.
He planted both hands on the ground, flipped through the air several times, and fled for his life.
He knew he could survive even if the blow struck him.
Even having his head cut off would not kill him.
But he had come here to kill, not to take a beating.
He fled, then suddenly planted his feet as though they had taken root. Ducking low, he swept backward.
Tetsu no Sosuke leaped into the air, his blade flashing downward like a streak of sunset light.
Akaza crossed his arms. His right hand had fully recovered now, and more changes had appeared across his body.
Sharp, bone-like spikes had grown from the backs of both hands. When he crossed his arms, they formed an X that caught Tetsu no Sosuke's blade.
Overwhelming force bore down on him. Expressionless, Tetsu no Sosuke pressed the blade lower, bit by bit.
Akaza fought to hold it back!
It was an unsettling feeling. Demons had always far surpassed humans in both strength and speed.
Yet the terrifying force bearing down on him made Akaza feel as though he was fighting not a human, but a true... demon god!!!
A man stood before him, but he felt as fearsome as a demon god.
Akaza was beginning to feel that he could not withstand that tremendous strength!
