Tetsu no Sosuke wiped his face and took a moment to steady himself. Then he pulled out a few small things he had prepared during their long trek through the woods.

A homemade torch, for one!

Speaking of which, Tetsu no Sosuke had a bone to pick with certain wilderness survival games.

Those games made torches seem like the easiest things in the world to make.

Find some rags, smear them with pine resin if you had no oil, then light them... Sure, the torch caught fire. But before long, the rags slipped off the branch, and that was the end of your torch!

Tetsu no Sosuke and Yuichiro had made more than a dozen attempts at this one little thing before they finally produced a torch that would burn for a decent length of time.

Yuichiro carried the torches on his back. Tetsu no Sosuke took one, lit it, and cautiously made his way into the cave.

The cave was not airtight, so he was not worried about running out of oxygen.

Yuichiro followed close behind Tetsu no Sosuke, his nerves on edge.

He had never faced a terrifying demon head-on, but why did this awful place feel even more frightening?

The dark tunnel stretched deep ahead, seeming to descend straight down.

The air was slightly damp. Mixed with cold sweat, the moisture soon left his skin sticky and unpleasant.

Little spots on his body started to itch, too. Was it his skin, or were tiny bugs he could not see in the dark biting him?

Could those bugs be poisonous?

If he was poisoned, would he die?

His thoughts ran in every direction until he decided that exploring places like this really did not suit him.

His younger brother probably would not be this scared, would he?
