Over the next few days, filming for the Tassilo commercial wrapped up.

After finishing his last take, Wu Jiangyuan leaned back in a chair, drinking the coffee Aji had bought him.

"Brother Yuan, Director Liang really left fast. One second he was calling it a wrap, and the next he was gone."

Aji spoke as he crouched beside him.

Wu Jiangyuan bit his straw and replied casually, "He's a big-name director. It's normal for him to be busy."

"But, Brother Yuan." Aji looked up at him conspiratorially. "These past few days, I heard from Director Liang's people that he's getting ready to shoot a new movie. Apparently it's a historical piece. Half the entertainment industry has gone to audition."

He chuckled as he added, "Why don't you give it a shot too?"

"I'd like to." Wu Jiangyuan raised an eyebrow. "But getting mocked would be one thing. I'm afraid Director Liang would crush my self-esteem too. Better forget it."

After working with Liang Changju on the commercial over the past few days, he could tell the man demanded absolute perfection.

He wasn't professionally trained, so there was no point asking for trouble.

"Besides, actors are the last thing his movies lack. How would I ever get a turn? Your Brother Yuan knows his own limits."

Aji sighed. "That's a real shame. Brother He really hopes to see your face on the big screen."

Wu Jiangyuan chuckled. "If it's meant to be, it'll happen."

He stood up and stretched. "I don't have anything scheduled tomorrow, right?"

Aji said, "Nothing for now."

Wu Jiangyuan said, "All right, don't message me tomorrow. I'm disappearing for a day."

Aji asked curiously, "Sounds like you've got something big to do tomorrow, Brother Yuan."

Of course Wu Jiangyuan couldn't tell him that tomorrow was a major milestone in his life.

The day he and Pei Jinghe would register their marriage.

A major milestone in name, though in reality, it meant no more to him than letting out a fart.

Pei Jinghe hadn't messaged him these past few days.

Today, Wu Jiangyuan would contact him first.

The custom-made suits had arrived.

The designer had personally messaged him about it.

After leaving the suit shop that day, he'd found the designer quite agreeable and added him as a contact to sort out the remaining details.

In the pictures the designer had sent him,

two suits, one blue and one pink, were displayed on racks. The pictures had no filters at all, yet the colors already packed a punch.

The blue was a deep blue, grand and elegant, commanding to an outrageous degree.

The pink closely resembled peach-blossom pink, the very definition of sweetness, sweeter than a baby-faced pretty boy.

The designer had truly reproduced the exact pink of bougainvillea, a style Omegas loved most.

Wu Jiangyuan could hardly wait to see Pei Jinghe's expression when he saw the outfit.

3Q: [At the office?]

The message went out one second.

The reply came the next.

The sour-faced jerk who's asking for a beating: [Yes.]

3Q: [The suits have arrived. What time will you be done?]

The sour-faced jerk who's asking for a beating: [Are you going to the shop? I'm free right now.]

3Q: [Okay, I'm pretty close to your office. We can head over together.]

The sour-faced jerk who's asking for a beating replied instantly: [Okay.]

Putting his phone down, Wu Jiangyuan patted Aji's shoulder. "Let's go. Take me to Tangsheng."

Though Aji didn't understand, he knew better than to ask. "Sure thing."

Tangsheng-

After saying goodbye to Aji, Wu Jiangyuan entered the building.

Presumably, Pei Jinghe had spoken to someone last time, because Wu Jiangyuan reached the office without any trouble this time.

Ard was already waiting by the elevator. At the sight of him, she gave a meaningful smile.

"Young Master Wu, we meet again."

So Young Master Wu was the person the boss had asked me to wait here for.

No wonder he even canceled his meeting. He had a date.

Wu Jiangyuan's eyes curved into shallow crescents as he smiled. "Hello, Miss Secretary."

"Your boss didn't give you a hard time after last time, did he?"

Ard shook her head, gratitude in her eyes. "Quite the opposite. The boss even gave me a raise."

She knew very well that her raise was most likely thanks to this Young Master Wu.

I shouldn't call him Young Master Wu anymore. I should call him the boss's wife.

She had figured it out: taking good care of the boss's wife was the way to go.

"Boss's wife... oops! Please come in, Young Master Wu. The boss is waiting inside."

Wu Jiangyuan: "?"

Pei Jinghe was looking down at some documents.

He looked up and spoke first. "Have a seat. I'll be done in a moment."

Wu Jiangyuan walked over and sat on the sofa. "I didn't drive today. We'll take your car."

Pei Jinghe said, "Okay."

Wu Jiangyuan had barely settled into his seat when Ard came in carrying a tray.

"Young Master Wu, have some afternoon tea."

Smiling, she set down the mango mousse from the tray, along with a cup of tea.

Wu Jiangyuan's eyes brightened slightly. "Your company has pretty good taste in afternoon tea."

Ard maintained her smile. "As long as you like it, Young Master Wu."

Of course. The president personally asked for this dessert to be prepared.

Once Ard left, Wu Jiangyuan dispensed with the formalities, picked up the mousse cake, and began eating.

Throughout the shoot, he'd had to stay in peak condition and hadn't been able to eat a single thing he craved.

The cravings had been unbearable.

As Wu Jiangyuan ate, he reflected that although the cake tasted good, eating it once meant two hours at the gym.

Pleasure and pain went hand in hand.

The only sound in the office was Pei Jinghe turning pages. Wu Jiangyuan ate quietly.

Every so often, he looked up, his gaze lingering a little longer when it fell on Pei Jinghe.

It was his first time seeing Pei Jinghe at work. The same thought still applied: Enigmas existed to make people jealous.

Perhaps his gaze was too direct, because Pei Jinghe looked up at him. "Not to your taste?"

"No." Wu Jiangyuan withdrew his gaze without a change in expression and lowered his head to take a bite of cream.

Pei Jinghe raised an eyebrow slightly but said nothing.

When he was nearly finished, Wu Jiangyuan set down the plate and asked, "When will you be done?"

"I'm already done."

Pei Jinghe closed the document and stood up as he spoke.

Halfway over, he suddenly turned back and took an exquisite little bag out of a drawer.

"Let's go."

Wu Jiangyuan eyed the little bag curiously. "What are you holding?"

Pei Jinghe said, "I can't tell you yet."

Wu Jiangyuan scoffed. "As if I care."

He stood up, but as he walked past Pei Jinghe, the other man caught his arm.

Wu Jiangyuan turned back, questioning him with his eyes.

Pei Jinghe slowly leaned closer, until they could almost feel each other's breath.

"What are you doing?"

Wu Jiangyuan instinctively started to step back, but Pei Jinghe had already raised his hand, brushing the pad of his finger across his lips.

He wiped away a small dab of cream.

"Wu Jiangyuan, are you a child?"

Pei Jinghe spoke in an even tone.

Wu Jiangyuan: "..."

As he stared at the cream on Pei Jinghe's thumb, the tips of his ears inexplicably began to burn.

He bristled instantly and shook off his hand. "Mind your own business."

With that, he strode away without looking back.

Watching him from behind, Pei Jinghe was amused. He lowered his eyes and rubbed away the bit of cream on his thumb, the emotion in his eyes unreadable.
