Paras and Nincada, Could It Be? A New Call-In and Boltund! (Bonus Chapter for 1k Follow-Up Readers)

In Pokémon's known official lore,

Paras had only one Evolutionary Form, and there apparently had never been an uninfected Paras.

There were only Parasect specimens whose mushrooms had fallen off, leaving them motionless.

In Ye Yinchuan's recollection, the Pokémon closest in form to Paras was probably Nincada.

That thing was based on a cicada, and its appearance was actually very similar to Paras.
