The Stone Person no longer resembled its original form. Layer upon layer of stone plates covered its entire body, making it look extremely "strong," and it stood half a head taller than an ordinary human.
A faint red glow of magma could be seen through the cracks in its joints, and scorching steam occasionally burst out. The stones around its joints floated slowly, as though they were suspended in midair, but beneath them was actually flowing magma.
The Stone Person no longer gave off cold or hot air for no reason. Hard rock protected the high-temperature core with its inverted temperature deep within, and heat dissipated in a mild, steady manner, traveling along its exoskeleton into the ground.
Rather than a life-form, this perfect shape looked more like a precision machine. Every structure carried the experience these stones had accumulated over hundreds of millions of years, along with their understanding of what it meant to be "alive."
The Stone Person simply stood where it was, using the "brain" it had inherited from humans to contemplate its own existence and examine its brand-new self...
"Want to go over and take a look?" Mo Ling nudged Lu Youqi beside him with his hand.
"I'm not going."
"What are you afraid of? Isn't it just a Stone Man?"
"Then why aren't you going?"
"I'm scared." Mo Ling answered without hesitation. "What if it suddenly awakens and starts slaughtering humans? Wouldn't I be done for? It's so huge—I can't beat it."
"I think you're overthinking it... It should still be in a very ignorant state right now. Aside from understanding its own structure, it has no knowledge of the outside world."
"Then you go... Forget it, let A'Dai go. A'Dai is strong."
