Mo Ling braced himself and struggled to his feet.
The ground beneath him was slippery. The turtle shell was covered in damp moisture, sticky and slick. His body went limp, and unable to support himself, he fell back down.
Only then did he realize that many parts of his body were in excruciating pain. He must have struck something during the recent shaking, and bruises had already appeared in several places.
It was already difficult for Mo Ling to stand again. Even the slightest movement tugged at all the injuries across his body.
Just as he was about to examine his wounds, a series of knocking sounds suddenly came from outside.
It sounded as though something was pounding on the Stone Man...
Mo Ling was about to extend his vision outside when a ray of sunlight suddenly shone in. The crack clogged with mud and sand seemed to have been pried open by something.
The Stone Man's body loosened and was moved aside. Then, several "hands" covered in shells lifted it up.
Before Mo Ling could figure out what was happening, several more hands reached through the crack and yanked him out with brutal force.
Only then did he see clearly that these "hands" belonged to some strange-looking creatures. Their heads were split bivalve shells, and their bodies were covered in chaotic calcium structures. They looked somewhat like shattered shells and somewhat like polished coral. Some areas bore peculiar patterns, while the shells atop their heads constantly opened and closed, making strange clicking sounds.
These Shell Creatures still looked quite human. They had two arms and two legs, but they definitely had nothing to do with humans.
After dragging Mo Ling out of the crack, they roughly tossed him together with the Stone Man.
