"Could we remain in a state of disorder forever?"
"That way, we wouldn't need matter either. Matter is merely deadweight that hinders change. No matter what kind of material change it is, it requires energy and time. Those are parts that can be discarded..."
"Would a purely energy-based existence work? The continuation of information does not have to rely on matter alone. It can also rely on energy."
"Fixing the form of disorder, using energy to construct the shapes of worms and butterflies—not using themselves as carriers of information, but defining their existence through their effects on the Outside World, forming an ordered description within the Objective World while existing in a disorderly state."
After gaining a certain degree of "intelligence," the Entropy Worms began using their limited consciousness to plan their future. As a race that had personally witnessed the changes in the Abyss, they knew that "change" was the key to a race's continued survival, and the endpoint of change was absolute disorder.
Disorder could not give rise to life. Life was the continuation of information.
But these Entropy Worms found a way. They used energy to fix their forms and stuffed their disorder into them. They themselves were merely fixed rules, recording no life information, yet anchoring their existence through their effects on the Outside World.
It was like describing a "black hole." One could not describe what a black hole truly was, only use two words: "black" and "hole." These described the black hole's effects on the Outside World, reflecting some of its properties and carrying its information.
These Entropy Worms cast their "genetic material" outside their bodies.
Whenever they touched other things, they would turn them chaotic, and within that chaos was the information of the Entropy Worms, heralding the existence of these disorderly creatures.
