Lin Xiaotian stared blankly at the man who had held up the statue for him.
With the man's back turned, he could not see what he looked like, but he could tell that the man was powerfully built. When he exerted himself, his entire back bulged with muscles brimming with strength.
It took him a moment to snap out of it. If the man had not held up the statue for him, he would have been pinned beneath it by now. Getting hit in the back of the head by such a heavy statue would have left him dead or half-crippled.
He hurried over to help, pushing the statue back into place together with the man.
The Stained Glass Window was still black and white, while the Bronze Bell continued its low tolling.
Lin Xiaotian did not notice anything unusual. Looking at the man whose face and half his body were concealed in darkness, he asked anxiously, "Are you okay?"
The man shook his head, dusted off his hands, and replied with ease, "No big deal."
Lin Xiaotian let out a breath of relief. He truly had not noticed the statue falling. It was fortunate that the man had appeared in time, or the consequences would have been unimaginable.
"Did Father Wang send you here to help?"
He had not even noticed when the man appeared. There had not been the slightest sound.
"No. I'm from the Disaster Relief Team," the man answered while lowering his head to inspect the statue's base.
"So am I, but I... haven't seen you before."
Upon hearing that the other man was also from the Disaster Relief Team, Lin Xiaotian thought for a while. He simply could not remember ever seeing him, so he could only say so honestly.
"You're new here, aren't you?"
