"I was in an enormous metal space. There were many things inside... The metal space was also square, like a cube, only much larger. I could see what was happening outside the cube through the walls, but I couldn't touch anything."
"My body was still intact, but I didn't know whether it was my real body..."
"I don't know the exact principles behind the teleportation..."
"It was very easy to use, and it didn't seem to require any cost."
"Other than teleportation, I haven't discovered any other abilities yet."
"..."
"I need cola."
When he saw the latest words appear on the electronic screen, not only Director Wang but even the recorder beside him froze.
Fortunately, Director Wang reacted at once and hurriedly instructed the assistant beside him to fetch a few cans of cola.
"Director, should we record this too?"
"Of course. It might be some kind of cost."
"There are costs like that?"
"Of course. Costs can take all kinds of forms."
As they discussed it in low voices, the electronic screen vanished again. Not long afterward, it reappeared on the table, still bearing only one simple sentence:
"It's not a cost. I just want a drink."
"I told you, Director. It wasn't a cost..."
"Don't worry about it. Record everything."
"Understood."
Afterward, Director Wang asked what exactly was inside the metal space and what it felt like to have that "vision" through the walls. He received detailed answers to all of it.
"One more question. Do you remember your name?"
The electronic screen appeared again. Two words were written on it—Mo Ling.
"We'll verify your identity. If you can provide us with more identifying information, it'll be easier for us to narrow things down."
Before long, Director Wang had Mo Ling's detailed information in his hands.
