"Were the Quiet Night Tribe willing to be made into weapons?" Mo Ling asked curiously.

"They had no particular opinion. Whether they existed as living beings, as Shadow Weapons, or fully merged into darkness, they were all part of darkness. There was no difference, only a different vessel. Everyone in that tribe thought that way. Their way of thinking was hard to understand."

Cold Tide's tone carried confusion as well. Clearly, he did not know much about that tribe either.

"After the tribes fell apart, we rarely saw members of the Quiet Night Tribe. We would occasionally still see members of other tribes, but no one knew where they had gone..."

Cold Tide moved closer to Mo Ling and asked, "Can you let me see your weapon?"

Hearing Cold Tide's request, Mo Ling raised his arm and brought the Shadow Weapon attached to his hand closer.

However, the mass of shadow on his arm seemed to be avoiding him, immediately darting to Mo Ling's other hand.

Cold Tide froze at the sight and muttered in confusion, "It's avoiding me... Why is that?"

The black mass of shadow shrank directly into Mo Ling's fur. Mo Ling could still sense and control it, but the shadow was resisting, unwilling to go onto Cold Tide.

Mo Ling tried again and realized that the shadow was not unwilling to go onto Cold Tide. Rather—it was unwilling to leave him.

"It seems like it has to stay attached to me..."

Mo Ling explained to Cold Tide in confusion.

"Shadow Weapons do not have any restriction that prevents them from detaching themselves. Especially an autonomous weapon made using the Quiet Night Tribe—it should be able to leave its Master and fight on its own. Where did this supposed need to remain attached come from?"
