The "Ruler" of Dream City

From the very beginning, Dream City had been experimenting with all kinds of emerging technologies, whether they were banned or not. Nothing was off limits. It was said that this was a power granted to Dream City by Dawn City's authorities.

At the time, Dream City's authorities had fully exercised that power, establishing a Research Institute, taking out all kinds of sealed technologies for renewed research and practical application.

As long as something could be put to use, it became part of Dream City's development.

These forbidden technologies saw the light of day again in the Eternal Night, shining and giving off heat.

The Dream Network was put into use not long after the Security Robots appeared. When it was first launched, it did not cover everything. It was only used as an internal management network for certain infrastructure.

At the time, the Dream Network was divided into many independent intranets. Some were used to control Dream City's lighting, some for Dream City's communications, and others for internal data analysis. Although these independent Dream Networks drew from the same Database, they were not connected to one another.

But the situation soon changed.

Because the Dream Networks used by different departments were separate, data had to be downloaded from an independent Dream Network, sent through the communications Dream Network, downloaded by the receiving party through that communications network, and then uploaded to that department's own independent Dream Network. This consumed a great deal of effort.

So the authorities began promoting the integration of the Dream Network, connecting its differently purposed branches and turning it from a Local Area Network into the Internet. Cooperation between departments also began relying on the Dream Network.

At the same time, the Dream Network began expanding downward.

It gradually spread from official use to civilian use,
