Whether it was the food, the tables, chairs, bowls, chopsticks, or the clutter moved into the corners, none of it had gathered any dust. Everything seemed to have remained at exactly seven in the evening twenty years ago, preserving its condition from that moment.
Outside this building, time was still moving. Inside it, everything had solidified.
People came and went beyond the display window, while everything within had become eternal, unchanging "scenery." As long as someone watched, this scenery would never change.
The banquet remained forever on the verge of beginning. The food stayed steaming hot. Dust would never settle, only swirl endlessly through the air...
Watching it all from outside the window, Mo Ling felt the strangeness in his heart growing heavier. Even the delicious roast chicken no longer seemed so tempting.
