"Yes, we've become Dream Creatures."
The Team Leader nodded. He answered calmly, as if he were talking about some trivial matter.
"We had to become like this before we could manipulate dream energy." He looked at the twisted pixels around them, speaking with a hint of nostalgia.
"Why did we have to become Dream Creatures? What does this have to do with Jailbreak?" Hu Le had not forgotten their purpose. Everything they had done was to leave the Dream Capital, return above the Abyss, and spread word of what had happened to the Dream Capital's residents.
The Team Leader looked toward the churning colored "paint" in the distance. Instead of answering immediately, he waved to Hu Le and told him to follow.
"Where are we going?" Though Hu Le was confused, he decisively followed him...
Walking across the multicolored pixels felt strange beneath his feet.
Sometimes, it felt like Sand Land, and he could hear friction beneath his shoes. Other times, it felt like the tiles in a Meeting Room, smooth and slick. Then, after walking for a while, it would suddenly sink in as if he had stepped on rubber...
Feeling the changes beneath his feet, Hu Le curiously followed behind the Team Leader, watching him stop now and then to change direction.
Hu Le could not tell how the Team Leader determined where to go. He only noticed that the man would sometimes raise the Dream Catching Device in his hand like a compass, aiming it in different directions without pressing any of its buttons.
And so, the Team Leader led Hu Le in circles until they arrived somewhere else.
This place looked no different from before, except the colored outlines around them seemed a shade dimmer, as though someone had turned down the "brightness."
