"Keep reading." Tsunade slipped off her shoes, changed positions, and lay on her side with her feet on the sofa.
At the sight, Nobuhiko was overwhelmed by guilt again for a while before he calmed down and opened the Water Dragon Bullet scroll.
Water Dragon Bullet. This technique had two methods of activation.
One was to spit out a stream of water that formed a controllable water dragon to strike the enemy.
The other was to use a watery environment, gathering water from a lake into a controllable water dragon to strike the enemy.
There were two sets of hand seals. The first had forty-four seals. The second had been reduced to four seals by the Second Hokage: Rat-Dragon-Rabbit-Tiger.
Luckily, the scroll also records the principles behind simplifying it. With some study, I should be able to cast it with around ten seals. I can simplify it further after that.
Afterward, Nobuhiko opened the Water Formation Wall scroll.
Water Formation Wall. This technique also had two methods of activation.
One was to spit out a waterfall-like stream of water to block enemy attacks. The other was to form hand seals and create an upright wall of water from the ground up to protect oneself.
There were also two sets of hand seals. One was the same as the set in the Water Formation Wall scroll his dad had given him: Tiger-Snake-Tiger-Snake-Tiger-Snake. The second consisted of two seals devised by the Second Hokage. That settles it. This is the one I'll learn.
Finally, Nobuhiko opened the Water Fang Bullet scroll.
Water Fang Bullet was a technique that used masses of water formed underwater to inflict physical damage on enemies.
Adding rotation to compressed water increased its destructive power. With skillful use, it could attack from any angle. It required only half a Yang Water seal, formed with one hand.
The difficulty of this technique lay in controlling water nature chakra to rotate and compress it.
"Finished reading?"
"Yes."
"Then how about a quiz?"
"Huh?"
Without waiting for Nobuhiko to agree, Tsunade began asking questions.
"What do you think is the most important property of water nature chakra?"
Nobuhiko thought for a moment and ventured, "Flow?"
"Oh, not bad, kid. You really are pretty smart!"
"Whether it's an area-of-effect ninjutsu like Water Dragon Bullet or Exploding Water Colliding Wave, or a defensive ninjutsu like Water Formation Wall, their foundation is water's fluidity."
"As your chakra control improves, you'll be able to reduce chakra loss and increase the power of your ninjutsu when you cast Water Release ninjutsu."
"One more question, and today's lesson is over."
"What if I can't answer?"
Nobuhiko felt as though his head had been crammed full of knowledge. He was a little dazed and wasn't sure he could answer.
"If you can't answer, my work for today is done, but you'll have to keep trying. No resting until bedtime." Tsunade patted Nobuhiko on the shoulder smugly.
???
That's Princess Tsunade for you.
Nobuhiko grumbled inwardly in resignation.
"After reading these ninjutsu scrolls, you should have noticed that most offensive Water Release ninjutsu are area-of-effect techniques. So, if you wanted to develop single-target Water Release ninjutsu and increase their power, what would you do?"
Tsunade knew this question was a little difficult for Nobuhiko, but she couldn't resist making things hard for him.
After all, raising a kid was all about teasing him.
No matter how smart, mature, or lecherous Nobuhiko had seemed before, he was still just a five-year-old brat.
Tsunade was already imagining herself enjoying a delicious dinner alone while the kid racked his brains beside her, scratching his head in frustration, looking pitiful as he wanted to eat but couldn't.
What should I do to show my stern side while also letting him feel my deep affection for him?
While Tsunade was still daydreaming, Nobuhiko had already breathed a sigh of relief.
And here I thought it would be a hard question!
As a transmigrator familiar with Naruto's plot, Nobuhiko naturally knew the standard answer to this question.
The Second Hokage's Water Severing Wave could even cut through the God Tree's branches. Was there a more definitive answer than that?
Knowing the answer, Nobuhiko decided to show off a little in front of Tsunade.
"Ahem."
Nobuhiko cleared his throat, snapping Tsunade out of her daydream.
"Big Sis Tsunade, this question is so hard."
Nobuhiko complained deliberately.
Tsunade's pretty face flushed. A little embarrassed, she couldn't quite meet Nobuhiko's eyes as she offered a guilty excuse. "It is a little hard, but doesn't that make it more of a challenge?"
"But I feel so cheated. For such a profound question, I get punished if I answer wrong, but there's no reward if I get it right. That's so unfair!"
Nobuhiko deliberately pulled a long face.
Tsunade now felt it was a little inappropriate too, but she was somewhat reluctant to let things end so abruptly.
"Then what do you want?"
Nobuhiko lowered his head and pretended to think for a moment. "If I get it right, you have to agree to one condition."
"I haven't decided what it is yet. How about you owe me one, and I'll tell you when I want something?"
Tsunade refused without a second thought.
What a joke. This little brat probably can't answer, but what if he does?
With this brat's nasty tastes, who knew what outrageous demands he might make later? Princess Tsunade wasn't falling for that!
Ah, getting a bargain really isn't easy. I'll have to settle for less, Nobuhiko thought regretfully.
"Then, if I make you angry in the future, could you not hit me?"
Tsunade was suddenly at a loss for words.
She felt this request was neither difficult nor simple to grant. It would just make it easy for this brat to run wild.
Seeing that Tsunade was still thinking, Nobuhiko could only tearfully back down another step!
"Then could you go easy on me when you hit me?" Nobuhiko asked in a tearful voice, as though he had suffered a great injustice.
Tsunade's eyes immediately lit up. She thought this was a good idea.
Even if the kid answered correctly, such a small request was nothing to worry about.
It was time for her to display Princess Tsunade's generosity.
So she readily agreed.
"Go on, then. What do you think you should do?" Tsunade asked comfortably.
"I think you should compress it," Nobuhiko answered nonchalantly.
This time, Nobuhiko genuinely surprised Tsunade.
This kid was simply too smart.
"You're right. Compression."
"But for now, you only need to know the idea. Compressing water is already the most advanced skill in Water Release ninjutsu. It's too early for you to learn it."
"If you have time, you can study Water Trumpet in depth. Although it's only a C-rank ninjutsu, you might find inspiration in it when it comes to compressing water."
"Got it, Big Sis Tsunade. Then, about the request we just agreed on?" Nobuhiko asked cautiously.
"I know, I know. I'll go easier on you from now on," Tsunade said, waving her hand a little glumly.
Then she returned to her room.
Seeing that it was still early, Nobuhiko continued familiarizing himself with those ninjutsu scrolls.
Nobuhiko went out to buy dinner himself and brought a portion back for Tsunade as well. She came out to collect it and took it back to her room.
He didn't know why, but she seemed a little busy now.
