Nobuhiko moved in with Tsunade, trained in Water and Wind Release, and earned the Third Hokage’s protection despite Danzo’s interest in him. He befriended Kushina and reassured her about being a Jinchūriki, then urged her and Tsunade to consider meeting the Nine-Tails on its terms.

• After Kihara Yusuke died, Nobuhiko awakened his Sharingan, learned about his Senju and Uchiha ancestry, and moved in with Tsunade.
• Tsunade trained Nobuhiko and left for the battlefield, while Nobuhiko practiced Water Release, invented the Wind Body Flicker Technique, and resolved to grow strong enough to protect her.
• Tsunade returned and tested Nobuhiko, then asked the Third Hokage to protect and teach him, and the Third promised to stop Danzo and Root from targeting him.
• Nobuhiko impressed the Third Hokage with his abilities and declarations of loyalty, then sparred with Kushina and agreed to become her friend.
• Nobuhiko asked Kushina to teach him sealing jutsu, and Tsunade warned Kushina that missions outside the village were too dangerous for her.
• After learning Kushina was a Jinchūriki, Nobuhiko called Jinchūriki heroes who deserved respect, reassuring her when she asked if he feared her.
• Kushina asked the Nine-Tails its name, and it offered to reveal it if she let it take over her body to meet Nobuhiko, and Nobuhiko urged Kushina and Tsunade to accept the risk.

Nobuhiko helped Kushina make progress with Kurama while surviving a Root ambush and gaining access to powerful techniques. After Dan Katō’s death left Tsunade grieving, Nobuhiko departed Konoha with her, while Kushina resolved to grow strong enough to join them.

• Kushina faced Kurama in the seal space, and he revealed his name before asking for time to think, and Tsunade praised Kushina’s first step toward him.
• Tsunade prepared to leave for the battlefield and entrusted Kushina to Nobuhiko, who began studying sealing jutsu with her.
• Danzo arranged an attack on Nobuhiko, but Nobuhiko killed the Root assailant and brought the evidence to the Third Hokage, who moved against Root and offered Nobuhiko a technique from the Scroll of Seals.
• Nobuhiko chose Fivefold Rashomon and encouraged Kushina to keep building her relationship with Kurama, and Kurama eventually agreed to let them experience his chakra.
• Kushina controlled a two-tailed chakra cloak and fought the Third Hokage, then, months later, she and Nobuhiko helped Tsunade cope with Dan Katō’s death.
• Tsunade gave Nobuhiko her grandfather’s necklace and decided to leave Konoha, and Nobuhiko chose to accompany her, and his Sharingan evolved as Kushina reacted sadly to their plans.
• Kushina gave Nobuhiko several sealing scrolls and promised to join their travels once she grew stronger, and Tsunade and Nobuhiko left Konoha together the next morning.
• In Ishikawa Town, Nobuhiko used a Shadow Clone to beat Tsunade at the casino, while Kushina asked Kurama when she would be able to withstand his power.
