Gu Chi woke from the cold.
It was not the slight chill beneath the covers in the early morning. It was a bone-deep cold that seeped from between his bones, a chill frozen in place for thousands of years, as though his entire body had been stuffed into Antarctica's eternal ice sheet and even his breaths carried shards of ice. He blinked with difficulty. Before him lay impenetrable darkness, without so much as a sliver of daylight.
"What the hell... is it not dawn yet?" he muttered, his mind still foggy from staying up late watching Godzilla movies the night before. "Did I get up too early again? Wait, it's the weekend..."
He tried to raise a hand to rub his eyes, only to find his arms pinned down by something. Every movement met heavy, sluggish resistance, as though his entire body had been buried in bottomless permafrost, every inch of muscle resisting the effort.
Rumble-
A muffled roar rose from deep within the crust, like the bellow of an ancient beast awakening, shaking Gu Chi's eardrums painfully. The cold abruptly receded, replaced by an unfamiliar, overwhelmingly vast sense of power that surged wildly through his veins, almost bursting his consciousness.
"What the hell?!"
Gu Chi panicked completely. He struggled desperately to break free of those invisible restraints, only to discover that his body was no longer the familiar human form-it was indescribably enormous. Every muscle held the power to destroy heaven and earth; every breath stirred the air currents between them. He could clearly sense the thick rock strata beneath him, the magic surging deep within the earth's veins, and even hear the cries of birds and beasts fleeing a thousand miles away.
He exerted himself sharply.
Boom!!!
A deafening explosion erupted. The formerly solid ground collapsed as though struck by a giant bomb, instantly forming a vast crater hundreds of meters across. Shattered rock and frozen soil shot skyward, and dust filled the entire valley.
Then a dragon's head covered in golden scales slowly rose from the bottom of the crater.
What kind of being was this?
Its scales seemed cast from the purest gold, gleaming with a cold metallic sheen beneath the dim daylight. Its horns were long and sharp, its eyes burning golden flames, and every breath carried enough heat to melt steel.
Then came the second.
The third.
Three dragon heads rose together and let out a roar that shook heaven and earth. The sound waves became visible blasts of air that swept through the surrounding mountains, uprooting towering ancient trees and shearing lofty peaks in half.
Gu Chi was utterly stunned.
Because he had three fields of vision.
The three dragon heads' views merged perfectly in his consciousness. He could simultaneously see the chasm in the valley to his left and the snow on the mountains to his right. He could even bend his long necks to see his own massive, golden-scaled body clearly, along with the enormous wings that spanned a full thirteen hundred feet when spread, blotting out the sky and sun.
King Ghidorah.
King Ghidorah the King.
The name flashed through his mind like lightning, and every question instantly had an answer. He had transmigrated, becoming the monster he knew best-the three-headed golden dragon of the Legendary Universe, the alien destroyer known as "Monster Zero."
Holy shit... Gu Chi cursed inwardly, all three dragon heads baring their sharp fangs at once. I really transmigrated? And became King Ghidorah?
He froze for a full five seconds before he had to accept this absurd reality. He had no choice. Even if he refused to accept it, the three golden dragon heads before him and this utterly enormous body could not lie.
Wait... Gu Chi frowned, all three dragon heads turning together to survey his surroundings. According to the lore, shouldn't I be frozen in Antarctica? Where is this?
He remembered perfectly well that King Ghidorah in Legendary Godzilla had been sealed beneath Antarctica's ice sheet, returning to the world only after humans awakened him. Yet the land before him had neither Antarctica's ice and snow nor Earth's familiar terrain-the distant mountains rolled on endlessly, the vegetation took strange forms he had never seen, and the air was thick with a peculiar presence.
Just then, the sky abruptly darkened.
As King Ghidorah awakened, the already gloomy sky was swiftly covered by dense black clouds. They spread wildly like a tide, blotting out the entire sky in an instant. Fierce winds howled, sweeping shattered rock into the air. Without warning, torrential rain poured down, pattering against King Ghidorah's golden scales with crisp, crackling sounds.
Gu Chi could sense all of it clearly.
Within his body, every cell surged wildly with bioelectric energy, and the tendons in his wings drew taut. Their perfect aerodynamic structure meant that the slightest flap could whip up hurricane-force winds. Electricity coursed along his scales, generating massive Gravity Beams in the air, heating the moisture in it and bringing storms into being.
This was King Ghidorah's instinct.
The official information had spelled it out clearly: King Ghidorah the King, bioelectric attributes, height 521 feet, wingspan 1,300 feet, destroyer, global range. He could create his own localized storm system as he moved. Once fully awakened, the massive storms he generated would cover most of Earth and completely destroy its ecosystem.
That's King Ghidorah for you... Gu Chi marveled inwardly, all three dragon heads rising together to roar with excitement.
He spread his wings.
The enormous golden wings, thirteen hundred feet across, beat hard.
Whoosh-!!!
The gale instantly intensified into a devastating hurricane. Black clouds spread outward at a visible speed, from valleys to plains, from mountains to oceans. Like an enormous black net, they swiftly enveloped the entire continent. The downpour became a deluge, and lightning raged through the clouds, every bolt carrying King Ghidorah's bioelectric energy as it struck the earth and blasted out deep craters.
The storm was taking shape.
At this rate, it would not be long before this super hurricane spawned by King Ghidorah covered most of this unfamiliar world, dragging the entire world into a vortex of destruction.
Gu Chi hovered above the clouds, his three dragon heads looking down at the world below, excitement gleaming in his golden eyes.
He recalled the plot of the Legendary Universe.
Whenever King Ghidorah awakened and stirred up a global storm, Godzilla would appear to face him in their fated showdown.
Godzilla... Gu Chi repeated the name inwardly, all three dragon heads baring cold smiles at once. I wonder if my old rival exists in this world?
He beat his wings and flew through the clouds. The storm kept expanding behind him, and wherever he passed, heaven and earth changed color and all living things withered.
He was King Ghidorah the King.
He was the destroyer.
He was the most terrifying disaster that would soon descend upon this unfamiliar world.
King Ghidorah hovered at the very center of the storm. Every beat of his enormous golden wings seemed to pluck the strings of the entire planet's climate.
He could clearly sense every thread of the storm-from the valleys hundreds of kilometers beneath his feet to the continent's edge a thousand miles away, and on to the ionosphere above the stratosphere. The superstorm he had spawned already enveloped the continent's heartland like a black net blotting out the sky and sun. Its top had long since torn through the stratosphere, forming an enormous cyclonic vortex visible high in the sky.
Had an alien probe passed this planet at that moment, it would have clearly seen an inky black spot abruptly appear on the surface of a blue planet, spreading outward at an astonishing speed. Wherever it passed, clouds were swallowed and daylight blotted out. The entire world trembled at the awakening of this three-headed golden dragon.
Gu Chi stretched his enormous body, all three dragon heads letting out satisfied roars together.
This sense of power was something he could never have imagined as a human.
Commanding hurricanes, tearing open the sky, reshaping ecosystems-with a mere thought, he could turn a thousand miles of fertile land into a flooded realm, reduce towering city-states to ruins, and bend the entire planet's climate to his will. This godlike might finally made him understand why the top-tier monsters in movies never tired of "wreaking havoc"-when you possessed the power to casually destroy the world, watching tiny civilizations struggle beneath your might was itself an irresistible temptation.
The storm's wind speed soared wildly.
Three hundred miles an hour, four hundred, five hundred... The numbers kept changing in Gu Chi's perception, far exceeding the limits of any known hurricane on Earth. Air pressure dropped to an extreme low. Every five minutes, a new super cyclone was born within the storm, like a seed of destruction scattered by King Ghidorah, striking every corner of the continent.
The rain no longer poured; it fell as though a celestial river had burst its banks. Dense columns of rain joined into a solid sheet, striking the earth with an unending roar. Within mere tens of minutes, low-lying valleys and plains were completely submerged, forming a turbid inland "ocean." It was like a reenactment of the scene in the movie where King Ghidorah flooded Washington overnight-even aircraft carriers could be swept away by the floods, floating like toys amid the waves.
The winds were an even more terrifying executioner.
Trees were uprooted, enormous boulders hurled kilometers away. Countless tornadoes formed within the storm, lashing the ground wildly like enormous gray whips. Wherever they passed, hills were flattened and ore buried deep underground was forcibly gouged out of the earth.
Gu Chi's three dragon heads lowered together, looking down upon the destruction below.
He could clearly sense that, if he wished, just three more beats of his wings would send this storm sweeping across the entire planet, completely destroying every ecosystem and turning the planet into a dead world ruled by storms, floods, and lightning, just as he had done in the Legendary Universe.
Reshaping this planet's ecosystem... Gu Chi murmured inwardly, a complicated light flickering in his golden eyes. I actually did it.
Karelia Empire · Arcane Nexus Tower
Medici, the tower's Dharma King, stood atop the magic tower, staring fixedly at the inky storm expanding wildly in the distance. His aged fingers trembled slightly from the force of his grip, his knuckles white.
"Weather manipulation?" he repeated quietly, his voice filled with incredulous horror. "Impossible... absolutely impossible! Even a ninth-tier legendary Lord of Myriad Spells couldn't raise a superstorm covering half the continent in so little time! This is no longer magic. This is... divine punishment!"
He spun around and lunged for the shelves of ancient books behind him, frantically searching the volumes that recorded ancient calamities. Yellowed pages fluttered through his hands, dust filling the air. His gaze swept over line after line of ancient text, his heart beating faster and faster.
"The ancient magic tide... the great cataclysm that comes once in a thousand years..." Medici's voice grew quieter. "According to the records, every outbreak of the magic tide is accompanied by global storms, floods, and earthquakes, signs that the demon god's seal is loosening... but there has never been a calamity this violent! This isn't a magic tide at all. This is... the end of the world!"
He abruptly raised his head and looked toward the storm's center, where a faint golden outline flickered in and out of view among the clouds.
"What on earth..." A trace of fear entered Medici's voice. "Could possess such terrifying might...?"
He did not know that the source of this storm was a destroyer from another world, King Ghidorah the King, whom even "gods" would fear.
United Kingdom of Victoria · Royal Observatory
[Duke Iron Nexus], director of the Royal Magic Engineering Institute, stood on the observatory's observation platform. The magic-powered telescope in his hands remained fixed on the storm, his expression thunderous.
"Wind speeds exceed five hundred miles an hour, air pressure continues to fall, and the number of cyclones increases by one every five minutes..." The observer beside him reported the data in a trembling voice. "My lord, this storm has already surpassed every known super disaster in history! Three of our coastal ports have already been completely destroyed by tsunamis. The Archon Mechs can't maintain stable control in the storm at all, and the Sea Raven-class Flight Armigers have been wiped out!"
Duke Iron Nexus said nothing, merely staring fixedly at the inky storm.
"Notify every fleet to evacuate the coastal regions immediately. All mech units are to fall back to the inland fortresses." Duke Iron Nexus's voice was icy. "Notify parliament to activate the highest level of national emergency. And... send requests for aid to Karelia, Vostok, and Saint Junxi."
"My lord?!" The observer froze. "We're still at war with Saint Junxi..."
"This is no time for war!" Duke Iron Nexus whipped around, a harsh glint flashing in his eyes. "No single nation can withstand this calamity! If we don't join forces, this storm will completely destroy the entire continent!"
Aetheria Continent · Abyss of the Endless Ocean
Ten thousand meters beneath the sea, amid eternal darkness, a scarlet eye slowly opened.
The ocean sovereign that had ended the previous era's civilization, the world cleanser that had slumbered for thousands of years.
It could clearly sense that pure power of destruction from beyond the heavens hovering above the continent, raising storms that swept across the globe, stirring the ocean currents and awakening the monsters of the deep.
[Not of this world...]
An ancient, icy voice, like a whisper from the abyss, echoed throughout the ocean.
[Destruction...]
With that whisper, the entire Endless Ocean seethed.
An unprecedented super tsunami formed in the ocean.
Waves over a hundred meters high, like moving mountain ranges, surged toward the continent's coastal regions at a visible speed. Wherever the waves passed, seawater was pushed aside, and abyssal monsters from the seabed were swept to the surface, rushing toward land with the tsunami.
At a coastal port in the Kingdom of Victoria, a worker making emergency repairs to a steamship stood blankly on the docks, staring at the distant wall of water that blotted out the sky and sun.
He did not run.
Because he knew there was no escaping a tsunami over a hundred meters high.
The next second, the enormous wave crashed down.
The entire port, along with every steamship, factory, building, and human, was instantly swallowed whole, leaving not a trace.
The tsunami swept through every coastal nation with unstoppable force. Victoria's colonies, Nordheim's Viking villages, and the Liushan Alliance's mercantile city-states were like paper before it, instantly razed to the ground. Seawater surged inland and merged with King Ghidorah's floods, forming an immense flooded realm that spanned the continent.
Hovering at the storm's center, Gu Chi clearly sensed the disturbance in the ocean.
Hmm? His three dragon heads turned toward the ocean together, a flicker of surprise crossing his golden eyes. There's something else?
He could sense a power just as vast and just as ancient, coming from the ocean's abyss, filled with the will to destroy and devour. It resonated with his storm from afar, even continually increasing its strength.
This world... really is interesting. Gu Chi grinned, revealing his sharp fangs. Looks like Godzilla isn't the only thing waiting for me.
He beat his enormous golden wings. Under his control, the storm once again expanded wildly, spreading toward the ocean.
