Lin Ze looked around at the door of Department of International Magical Cooperation for a while, but he couldn't find Mia's workstation.
Finally, I woke up the receptionist who was napping at the door.
The receptionist rubbed her eyes and gave him directions. "The one on the right in the innermost corner, next to the filing cabinet, is where Miss Aiklas is."
Lin Ze looked in the direction he pointed.
It was almost completely blocked by a pot of foliage plants half as tall as a man, with only half of the table corner and a small section of dark blue sleeves exposed.
"This girl really knows how to pick places." Lin Ze muttered and walked over there.
The further you go in, the darker the light becomes.
It's not that the lights on this floor were deliberately dimmed so dark, but that the place was too narrow, with piles of documents half a person's height piled on both sides, obscuring the magic lamp overhead.
Lin Ze walked around two crumbling piles of files and finally saw the workstation.
The desktop is very clean.
Compared with the workstations piled with clutter around it, this place is like another world.
A stack of documents was neatly placed on the corner of the table, the quills in the pen holder were arranged according to length, the ink bottle was polished, and even the handle of the teacup next to it was facing outward.
If this girl went to Tokyo University in his world, she would definitely be able to get away with it.
Mia·Aiklas is lowering his head and writing something.
Her long hair was simply pinned behind her ears with a plain hairpin, her shoulders and neck lines were neat, and her skin was as white as if she had just come out of the cold storage.
The profile of her face is very quiet, and it cannot be said to be stunning, but it gives people a very deserted feeling, like that of an icy beauty.
"Miss Aiklas?" Lin Ze stopped at the table.
Mia's pen tip paused, and she slowly raised her head.
Lin Ze met her eyes, she was so beautiful.
To put it in Shandong Province's words, this woman doesn't look like she's the type to live a normal life.
She didn't speak, she just looked up at Lin Ze, so quiet that it felt like the air nearby was a few degrees cooler.
"My name is Lin Ze, team leader Special Operations Team Third Subgroup." Lin Ze introduced himself.
"Hmm."
Huh?
Just a "huh"?
Lin Ze waited for two seconds and found that the woman had no intention of continuing to talk, so she had no choice but to continue, "I have something I want to talk to you about. Isn't it convenient for you right now?"
"What's the matter?"
"It's not convenient to talk here, why don't we find another place? I know there is a small reception room at the corner of the fourth floor, which is usually unoccupied."
Mia looked at him for a while, then put down the quill, arranged the documents on the table, and closed the ink bottle cap.
"Let's go."
The reception room is really small, with a round table and three chairs, and a rattling wall clock hanging on the wall.
Lin Ze closed the door and cast Silencing Charm casually.
Mia sat down with his back straight and his hands folded on his knees. He did not show any curiosity or uneasiness from beginning to end.
"Tell me." She spoke first.
Lin Ze walked to the opposite side of her, supported the edge of the table, and looked down at her.
"Miss Aiklas, what do you think of Death Eaters?"
Mia's expression did not waver at all.
"Death Eaters? They are nothing more than a group of speculators who are attached to Dark Lord. After the fall of Dark Lord, the trees will fall apart and they will scatter."
"Oh? Really?" Lin Ze took out the wand and slowly rubbed the wand with his fingertips.
"Why do I feel that not all Death Eaters are speculators?"
"Perhaps there are... loyal fans like Ms. Aiklas?"
Mia is not answering the call.
Lin Ze is not in a hurry either.
He pulled out the chair and sat down, putting his arms on the armrests and leaning back into the chair.
"After the fall of Dark Lord, the Death Eaterss ran away and were arrested, but there was still a small group of people who quietly continued to stay in Ministry of Magic as if nothing had happened."
He paused and observed Mia's reaction.
But the other party didn't even tremble his eyelashes.
"You are very calm." Lin Ze smiled.
"I appreciate that."
"I don't understand what you are talking about, Team Leader Lin." Mia said.
"No, you understand very well."
Lin Ze leaned forward and lowered his voice. "Karkaroff, you should still remember him, right?"
Mia's fingertips curled up slightly.
"He was my informant in Death Eaters. After Dark Lord fell, he gave me all the former Death Eaters lists." Lin Ze leaned on the back of his chair.
Mia looked at him, the expression on his face was still like a thin layer of ice, and even his breathing rate had not changed.
"So?" she asked.
"So, I want to invite you to my Third Team."
The reception room was quiet for a few seconds.
Mia tilted her head slightly, a strand of long hair slipped from her shoulders, but she ignored it.
"Since you know my identity, how dare you let me join your group?"
"This is actually not a conflict. I don't think I am a hateful person." Lin Ze said.
"You're crazy." Mia's tone was so calm that it was hard to tell whether it was a statement or a question.
"Maybe." Lin Ze tilted his head.
"You are so confident that I will fuck you Third Team?" Mia asked.
"Do you have a better choice?"
Lin Ze stretched out a finger. "Or, I will slap the memory Karkaroff gave me on the table of Crouch and send you to Azkaban."
He stretched out a second finger. "Or, join Third Team and work under my hand. I will take care of your identity for you, as long as you don't commit suicide yourself."
"Why do you think you can handle it?" Mia asked.
"Because I know the identities of many people, not just you." Lin Ze looked directly into her eyes.
Mia was silent for a while.
"You're threatening me," she said.
"I prefer to call this a choice for you." Lin Ze corrected.
Mia's eyelashes moved.
"What do you want me to do?"
"Come Third Team, on the surface you are the clerk I hired from Department of International Magical Cooperation, but secretly, I need you to help me keep an eye on someone."
"Who?"
"Barty Crouch Jr.·Crouch."
Mia's pupils shrank almost imperceptibly.
"You really know everything," she said.
"That's why I came to you." Lin Ze stood up, walked around the table, stood in front of her, and looked down at her.
"Do you really believe that a person threatened by you will sacrifice his life for you?" Mia raised his face, and there was finally a hint of interest in his extremely pale eyes.
"What I believe in is not loyalty, but brains." Lin Ze said.
"I can probably guess what Barty Crouch Jr. is going to do. If you are still in Death Eaters, you may one day be used as cannon fodder by him. As one of my people, at least I will not leave you to Dementor as a dessert."
"Besides, I don't believe that a sane person like you would really be a fanatical follower of Dark Lord."
After a while, she said, "I have two conditions."
"Say."
"First, what you want me to do cannot involve underage wizards."
"Okay."
"Second, if you lose yourself, don't blame me for stepping on you to save yourself."
"No problem." Lin Ze said with a smile.
