Mr. K's bar has almost no customers during the day.
When Lin Ze pushed the door in, Mr. K was squatting behind the bar counting a box of Firewhisky. He heard the footsteps without raising his head:
"No bartending during the day."
"It's me."
Hearing the familiar voice, Mr. K raised his head and glanced at the door, and then saw Sirius following Lin Ze. He stood up slowly and put the wine bottle in his hand on the counter.
"This is?"
"My friend."
"Your friend looks very similar to the Black on the wanted poster."
Sirius grinned. "I."
Mr. K was stunned, then took out three glasses from behind the bar, poured three glasses of whiskey, and then pushed two glasses over.
Sirius picked up the cup and smelled it, and felt stuffy after one sip.
"I came to you to inquire about someone, Claude·Weil."
Lin Ze got straight to the point. "It is said that he is the boss of "White Raven Chamber of Commerce". What is his background?"
Mr. K wiped the cup and thought for a while, "I know very little about this person. Weier family is not Pure-blood families in the traditional sense. Although they have a long history, they have always maintained an open attitude towards intermarriage with Muggle."
"Claude's father, Ryans, is Half-blood. Their family started out by making Potions materials two centuries ago. In recent years, they have taken over the dirty business that Pure-blood families is unwilling to touch."
"Dirty road?"
"Wizard blood, organs, etc. Many alchemists' research requires the use of wizards' body tissues."
Lin Ze picked up the wine glass and took a sip.
"He has been in this business for more than ten years, Ministry of Magic hasn't checked?"
"Of course I checked."
Mr. K raised two fingers, "And twice. The first time was eight years ago. Auror Office went to search after receiving the report. Claude should have received the news in advance and cleaned up his goods. When Auror arrived, he only saw a room full of standard crucibles and dragon blood."
"The other time was four years ago. Wizengamot sent people to check his accounts. Halfway through the investigation, an order came from above, saying there was insufficient evidence and the investigation was suspended."
"Do you know whose order it is?"
"I don't know." Mr. K shook his head.
Lin Ze dropped two Galleon and left Poison Dragon Bar with Sirius.
After walking out of the door, Sirius said, "This guy must know."
"After all, he doesn't serve us specifically, so it's understandable that he has concerns."
Lin Ze walked out to Knockturn Alley, "But what he can say is enough. Claude·Weil has been doing this kind of business for more than ten years. Ministry of Magic checked him twice and everything was fine, which shows that he has a deep network of connections in the ministry."
"White Raven Chamber of Commerce dares to continue to receive goods when the news is so tight, which shows that he has confidence, or that he is sure that he will not be found."
"Then what are you going to do?"
"Let's see what Amos can bring back first."
That afternoon.
Weiqi kicked off his boots as soon as he entered the door, slumped on the chair and poured a glass of water into his mouth.
Amos took a stack of photos and several handwritten notes on Lin Ze's desk.
"The farm was found. It's about ten miles north of Edinburgh, behind a barren slope. It looks like a sheep farm with sheep pens, hay houses, and shepherd dogs, but there is a warehouse behind the sheep pen. The brick walls are three times thicker than the sheep pen, and the windows are all sealed with iron bars."
"Is there anyone inside?"
"Yes. When we arrived, there were three people inside moving goods. They wanted to run away when they saw us."
"Then we caught two, but unfortunately, the other one ran away." Amos spread out the photos.
"The warehouse is similar to the basement of White Raven Chamber of Commerce. There are iron cabinets, glass bottles, and tin boxes. There are fewer things than there at Diagon Alley. It seems that most of the goods have been transferred. But we found a few records in the corner. The numbers and dates of supply and receipt are listed on them, which are the same as those found in White Raven Chamber of Commerce."
Lin Ze took the record book and turned over two pages.
The serial number, date, quantity, and destination were written in sloppy but clear writing. The latest entry read "Sent to White Raven, number verified."
"What did the two captured men say?"
"They are all just running errands and don't know anything."
Weiqi added on the side, "The one who ran away is probably in charge."
White Raven Chamber of Commerce's warehouse has been intercepted, and the farm has also received it. Claude·Weil should have received the news by now.
"Ben, help me check the background of Claude·Weil, starting from his father Ryans's generation, to see who his family has had contact with Ministry of Magic. Also, pull out White Raven Chamber of Commerce's tax records for the past five years. It's a bit late now. Let's go back first. We'll talk about the rest tomorrow."
Everyone responded and left the Group Three office.
The next day.
"Claude·Weil's father, Ryans, worked as an assistant to the director of Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes for twenty years during his lifetime. After his retirement, he co-founded several Potions material companies."
"Ryans died four years ago, and Weil took over the family business. The average annual profit reported by White Raven Chamber of Commerce in the past five years was around two thousand Galleon."
"Then where did the money go?"
Ben pulled out a list taken from the tax records. "Most of them were transferred to the names of several overseas companies, one of which is in Switzerland, and two of which are in Caribbean region, both of which trade Potions raw materials. Some of them were paid to several personal accounts in the name of 'consulting fees.'"
"The names of those personal accounts?"
"They are all the names of ordinary wizards, and two of them have even passed away."
Lin Ze nodded, stood up and picked up his coat.
"I'm going to Wizengamot."
Lin Ze came to an office door and knocked on the door.
There was a cry of "come in" from inside.
Pushing the door open and walking in, there was an elderly bald wizard sitting behind the desk, with a pair of gold-rimmed glasses on his nose, approving a document.
Seeing Lin Ze walking in, his pen stopped for a moment.
"You are?"
"Ministry of Magic, Special Operations Team, Lin Ze. I have something to talk to you about, Claude·Weil about White Raven Chamber of Commerce."
The bald wizard's glasses slipped. He stretched out his hand to straighten them and put the pen back on the pen holder.
"White Raven Chamber of Commerce? I don't know much about it. Maybe you should contact the Commercial Office?"
"I checked the records. White Raven Chamber of Commerce has made six payments to one of your personal accounts in the past four years. The name is 'consulting fee'. The total amount is about fifteen hundred Galleon. Can you explain what consultation you provided them?"
The office was quiet for a few seconds. The bald wizard withdrew his fingers from the pen holder and placed them on the table, his knuckles turning slightly white.
"Team Leader Lin, I suggest you speak with caution."
"I know how to measure." Lin Ze pulled out the chair opposite him and sat down. The wand slipped out of his cuff and rested on the armrest, not facing him.
"But if you think this matter can still be fooled like it was four years ago, then you can try."
The bald wizard stared at the Yew Wand for a long time, and a thin layer of sweat slowly broke out on his forehead.
"What do you want to know?"
"Everything, what have you done for Weil, who knows about this, and who else has received money from Weil."
