At the Rose Hotel, he ignores the Nuoding group’s prior claim to a room and directs oppressive Soul Power at them to provoke Ling Feng. Discovering that Ling Feng can suppress him without displaying Soul Rings only intensifies his desire for a proper contest 52 53 59.

His later actions show fierce loyalty expressed through practical help and physical sacrifice. He prepares food for the injured Ling Feng, kneels in gratitude after the Star Dou escape, and continues supporting Zhao Wuji despite arrows, burns, and a broken arm 82 102 105 106 107.

Family affection overrides his competitive instincts when Dai Weisi is endangered. Although he fights his elder brother in the tournament, he shields him from Ling Feng’s descending hammer and urges him to reject the imperial family’s demands. Dai Mubai first notices Ling Feng at a waystation outside Suotuo City, where the two exchange scrutinizing looks. At the Rose Hotel, his attempt to provoke Ling Feng instead leads to a fight with Tang San and Xiao Wu. Ling Feng halts the clash before Dai Mubai’s counterattack can seriously injure Xiao Wu 50 52 53.

Unwilling to abandon the rivalry, Dai Mubai challenges Ling Feng to meet him in the arena. After Ling Feng’s one-hammer victory as Clear Sky, Dai confronts him in the competitors’ passage and vows to face him in the finals and remove his mask 53 59.

Recruiting Ling Feng

After Ling Feng is gravely injured, Dai Mubai brings bloody pheasants back to the camp and prepares them for cooking. He then directly invites Ling Feng to join Shrek, calling the academy a “paradise for monsters.” Ling Feng accepts, delighting Dai Mubai despite competing offers from major factions 82 83.

Star Dou Great Forest and the Tower Crisis

During the forest expedition, Dai Mubai attempts to save Oscar from an assassin’s poisoned bolt and shields Zhu Zhuqing and Ning Rongrong from the ensuing volley. During the group’s escape, he carries Tang San to safety. Once outside, he kneels before the unconscious Ling Feng with the other rescued students and bows his head to the ground in gratitude 87 88 102.

When Ling Feng urgently needs to reach Suotuo City’s tower, Dai Mubai helps Zhao Wuji carry him through the guards’ arrows. He uses White Tiger Annihilation Kill to boost Ling Feng to the tower, then continues supporting Zhao Wuji as the fissure drains the teacher’s body. Despite a carbonized, broken arm, he joins the attack on the approaching Spirit Hall elder and is overwhelmed by the elder’s pressure 105 106 107 108.

Black Spider Cult and Tournament Battles

Dai Mubai is among the injured Shrek students taken to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect after the Black Spider Cult’s attack. He subsequently joins Ling Feng’s counterraid against Venomous Scorpion’s warehouse and the Spider Cave 123 125.

In the tournament, he defeats a Plant Academy opponent with combined White Tiger transformations and helps incapacitate Heaven Poison Academy’s team. He also accompanies Ling Feng to Spirit Hall, where his Heaven-Rending Strike sends three Soul Saints flying 124 126 127.

Saving Dai Weisi

Mephisto places Dai Weisi under Mental Enslavement and intends for him to kill Dai Mubai. Ling Feng, Ning Rongrong, and Tang San work to purge the curse before the brothers’ tournament confrontation proceeds 129 130.

Dai Mubai fights alongside Zhu Zhuqing using Hell White Tiger, but shields Dai Weisi when Ling Feng summons a massive divine hammer attack. Ling Feng stops the blow. Moved by his younger brother’s protection, Dai Weisi concedes, acknowledges Dai Mubai’s side as the winner, and agrees to reject the imperial family’s demands 130.

Divine Realm Conflict and Godhood

Dai Mubai refuses to abandon Ling Feng when Shrek receives a divine threat. He later survives the assault on the academy and volunteers to accompany Ling Feng to the Divine Realm Core, where he helps defeat its guardians 132 134 136 137.

Recognizing the gap between the Seven Devils and God King-level enemies, he asks how they can become stronger. Ling Feng sends the team into the Time Secret Realm with cultivation resources and later accelerates its time. Dai Mubai reaches godhood with the other six, though they still cannot approach Ling Feng’s God Emperor Tribulation 139 140 141.

Later Tournament Preparations

In later tournament-preparation chapters, Dai Mubai receives Tang San’s hidden weapons and travels with Shrek toward Heaven Dou City. After encountering the Spirit Hall Golden Generation, he and Zhu Zhuqing train to keep Yan occupied while their teammates handle control and the remaining opponents 146 148.
