Ch. 483Difference Engine

Bru, Eva, Allen, and Luther explored Dream Space’s Difference Engine and discussed its role in magical research. Allen revealed that official wizards could accelerate time in personal Dream Space by spending Dream Points, and Luther synchronized with the machine, sharpening his mind and finding an optimal way to improve his Spells.

  • Bru led the group through a Space Gate into a chamber housing the enormous enchanted Difference Engine.
  • Allen explained that Dream Space let researchers build and test mechanical or biological computers cheaply, and Eva described the two competing research schools.
  • Bru told Luther that official wizards gained a special Dream Space function, and Allen demonstrated time acceleration that consumed Dream Points.
  • Allen explained that accelerated time could aid many kinds of magical research and that spatial magic could make the Difference Engine portable.
  • Luther synchronized with the Difference Engine and found his mind clearer and faster, immediately devising an optimal strategy for improving his Spells.

Ch. 484Cawing

Luther created a powerful Second Ring Spell, damaged Allen’s Difference Engine, and paid him back with Dream Points. The wizards agreed to retaliate against Elena without opposing the Bloodline Wizard School, and Bru secured Caroso’s promise not to interfere.

  • Luther used the Difference Engine and Dream Forum data to construct a Second Ring Spell that manifested seven crystal Magic implements, but their clash wrecked the Engine and caused him a mental backlash.
  • Allen reset the Dream Space to restore the Difference Engine, and Luther transferred nearly a year’s worth of Dream Points to compensate him.
  • Luther kept the Spell’s construction secret but offered to share its underlying principles with others under an oath.
  • Bru, Allen, Eva, and Luther agreed to approach the Golden Wizards before retaliating against Elena and the vampires who ambushed Bru.
  • Bru visited Caroso Manor and told Caroso he intended to pursue Elena and the two other attackers, not the Bloodline Wizard School.
  • Caroso agreed not to interfere and made a pact with Bru under the witness of the God of Dreams.

Ch. 485Dignity

Ace synchronized with his clone to review the Dream World's advances and watched the Bloodkin begin a retaliatory operation against the wizards. The chapter left Elena trapped by Luther, Allen, and Bru as Eva punished two attackers in Delat.

  • Ace reviewed the Dreamwalkers' progress, suggested harder Magic School examinations, and considered adding a competitive fighting arena to the Dream World.
  • Ace saw Valen and Vite develop mechanical and biological computers, and noted the Bloodkin's growing strength.
  • Elena fed on Iwenni in a manor in Delat before Luther, Allen, and Bru launched an attack and trapped them in a sealing net.
  • Elena transformed into bats to escape, but Luther's Magic crystal tool killed several of the fleeing bats.
  • Eva declared that the attackers had profaned the Magic Council's dignity and had dozens of Magic crystal weapons cut them apart.

Ch. 486Deep Meaning

Ace rescued Elena from the burning mansion, discovered she was a dream-born false soul, and sent her into a newborn child. He then launched a main quest for Gensokyo’s dreamwalkers to develop the barren planet Xilacool, leaving Bru and his companions wondering about its purpose.

  • Ace saved the Blood Crow from the burning mansion, restored Elena with Blood Qi, and used the Eye of True Knowledge to examine her soul.
  • Ace found that Elena was a dream-born lifeform without a true spirit, destroyed her frozen form, and sent her pale-red orb into a suitable fetus.
  • Ace decided to recruit dreamwalkers to develop a desolate world and connected Gensokyo to the shelter’s Dream Mist Crystal Wall.
  • Ace announced the main quest to develop Xilacool, and a mission screen appeared before four dreamwalkers in a tavern.
  • Bru brought Allen, Luther, and their companion to his dream space, where Allen and Luther speculated that the quest held a deeper purpose.

Ch. 487Competition

A new Competition feature let Dreamwalkers fight anonymously with no penalty for death, and Dennis eagerly entered a solo battle. After a warrior quickly defeated him, Dennis studied the replay and prepared spells for his next match.

  • Eva and Bru agreed to recruit people before heading to Xilacool.
  • Dennis told Hooke Thoth about the Competition feature, and Hooke agreed to try it with him.
  • Dennis entered an anonymous Solo Battle and was matched against the warrior Lang Hou.
  • Lang Hou severed Dennis's arm and knocked him unconscious, causing the referee system to declare him the loser.
  • Dennis reviewed the battle replay, identified his mistakes, and entered another Solo Battle with a plan to use defensive and strengthening spells.

Ch. 488Xilacool

Dennis and Hook explored the new multiplayer battle mode while Ace adjusted its rules, and Bru’s group prepared to develop the barren world of Xilacool. The pioneers arrived with supplies and Dream points, and Bru eagerly accepted the task of building a small town.

  • Dennis lost a long duel to a petite wizard, then advanced to Bronze Tier 4 and discussed his battles with Hook.
  • Ace increased the rewards for Team Battles and made multiplayer free-for-alls pay out all betting points to the sole survivor.
  • Dennis and Hook entered a hundred-person melee together, and Hook won as the last survivor before sharing points with Dennis.
  • Bru, Luther, Allen, and Eva recruited nearly four thousand people and prepared supplies before selecting the main quest.
  • The group arrived in the barren wilderness of Xilacool and received ten thousand Dream points and the task of building a small town.
  • Bru embraced the challenge and declared that even a city could be built with enough Dream points.

Ch. 489Fire Air

Auli studied competing theories about air and decided to test Phlogiston Theory before building her magical foundation. After reading Betty’s research, she replicated an experiment that produced Fire Air, a gas that intensified flames and had potential uses in combat and treatment.

  • Auli read Laval’s report on measuring gases and questioned whether air was made of multiple kinds of particles.
  • Auli told Arno she would not build her foundation on Phlogiston Theory until its claims were verified, and Arno encouraged her to experiment.
  • Auli read Betty’s paper, which divided air into Phlogisticated Air and Fire Air and described how to purify Fire Air.
  • Auli replicated Betty’s experiment and produced a gas that made flames burn more fiercely and eased breathing.
  • Auli learned that Bayern and Logan had also produced pure Fire Air using different heating methods.

Ch. 490General Theory of Combustion

After studying earlier research, Auli formulated a new theory of combustion that rejected Phlogiston as necessary and explained burning as a chemical reaction with Life Air. The theory stirred the wizards and drew Ace, Betty, and others to Auli’s residence as its radiance spread.

  • Auli reviewed experiments showing that air contained distinct gases and questioned whether Phlogiston could explain combustion.
  • Bru proclaimed that Fire Air sustained life, while Allen and Eva debated whether living beings could be understood as flames.
  • Auli studied previous papers overnight and wrote her General Theory of Combustion, grounding it in the Law of Conservation of Mass and identifying combustion as a reaction with Life Gas.
  • A powerful aura of the Great Source erupted around Auli, drawing Ace, the avatar of Demigod Thoth, Bayern, Betty, and other wizards to her residence.
  • Ace sensed Auli’s breakthrough and recognized her Combustion Theory as a revolutionary doctrine based on reactions with Life Air.

Ch. 491Oxygen

Auli discovered that combustion was oxidation involving oxygen, overturning Phlogiston Theory and triggering dangerous instability in wizards’ Spell Models. After the formal wizards stabilized their foundations, the Supreme Council published Auli’s General Theory of Combustion alongside Betty’s opposing paper, marking a new stage in combustion theory.

  • Ace named the newly identified life air oxygen, and Auli reached Level 2 life through Great Source feedback.
  • Auli announced that her discovery renewed Phlogiston Theory, prompting many frightened wizards to flee before Ace gathered the remaining formal wizards.
  • Auli demonstrated the effects of fresh and foul air and explained that combustion was oxidation involving oxygen, destabilizing Elemental School wizards’ foundational Spell Models.
  • Betty argued that Phlogiston Theory could be revised, and Auli projected her new runes to help the wizards stabilize their Spell Models.
  • The Supreme Council published Auli’s General Theory of Combustion and Betty’s Phlogisticated Air in Magic, while other formal wizards published objections.

Ch. 492God of Calculation

Ace withdrew from the High Tower to seek magical materials and pursue a true Astral Compass, while the wizards advanced elemental research in his absence. Thoth forged a computational Knowledge Domain and asked Lady of Night to help him become the God of Arithmetic, but she warned that his greater ambition could not be fulfilled.

  • Ace adjusted the Gensokyo Dream World, then returned to his Mindscape and resolved to search for a way to create a true Astral Compass.
  • Ace left the High Tower, and the Supreme Council took charge as the wizards continued their research for a year.
  • Laval discovered simple substances, and Logan recorded the table of elemental equivalents as elemental study advanced.
  • Thoth used mathematical research and gathered knowledge to forge a computational Knowledge Domain, then decided to seek the God of Arithmetic title.
  • Thoth visited Lady of Night, who warned him that he had no chance of ascending to the domain he desired, but he insisted that he would keep pursuing it.

Ch. 493Returning to the Reflection World

At Mount Kaya, Thoth completed his divine foundation in calculation and mathematics after Amion relinquished the overlapping authority, and he offered Amion an alliance. In the Reflection World, Ace defeated the Skeletal Dragon, tested his Formless Guardian Robe, and arrived at a castle where a Humanoid Bone Lord and its skeletons bowed to him.

  • Lady of Night Artemis told Metis and Amion that the authority of knowledge had divided and asked Amion to surrender the portion overlapping with Thoth’s domain.
  • Amion accepted Artemis’s divine artifact, and Thoth absorbed knowledge related to calculation and mathematics; Amion received further compensation to restore his strength.
  • Thoth thanked Amion and offered him unconditional aid up to three times in exchange for an alliance.
  • Ace faced the Skeletal Dragon in the Reflection World, endured its death breath with his Formless Guardian Robe, and destroyed it with the Calamity Sword.
  • Ace stored the Skeletal Dragon’s remains in Dreamlike Mist and flew to a sinister castle, where the Humanoid Bone Lord and tens of thousands of humanoid skeletons bowed to him.

Ch. 494Bone King

Ace subdued the Bone King through their old contract and learned that the Bone Dragon was gone. He then began forging an Astral Compass from the dragon’s bones and Palalanda’s Demigod-level core, leaving the framework glowing as it started to solidify.

  • The Bone King recalled how he had broken free of his old identity as Skeleton Subject No.1, ruled the region, and found Ace through their contract.
  • Ace used the contract and his legendary pressure to force the Bone King and the humanoid skeletons to kneel, then marked the Bone King with a Hexagram Pattern.
  • The Bone King told Ace that his forces had found the Bone Dragon, and Ace said that there was no Bone Dragon anymore.
  • The Bone King rallied his skeletons to attack the beasts in the eastern grand canyon while Ace sealed himself inside the castle and entered the Dreamscape Starry Sky Universe.
  • Ace used the Glazed Heart Flame and his Five-Ring Spell, “Legendary Oxidation Reaction,” to refine the dragon bones into a circular framework and inserted Palalanda’s Demigod-level core before it had solidified.

Ch. 495Void

Ace completed the Astral Compass and used it to leave the Kaya World, discovering its immense golden crystal wall from the Astral Void. After circling the world at nearly the speed of light, he was startled by something he saw nearby.

  • Ace inscribed runes and Dragon Language spells onto the Astral Compass, marked it with his Spiritual Mark, and located the Kaya World’s coordinates.
  • Ace used the compass to find a weak groove in the Kaya World’s crystal wall and traveled through it into the Astral Void.
  • Ace spent nearly a week flying away from the world before seeing the Kaya World’s golden, cocoon-like form from a distance.
  • Ace activated the compass’s Light Transformation Method and flew around to the opposite side of the world.
  • Ace was frightened by what appeared before him as he began exploring the nearby void.

Ch. 496Borrowing

Ace discovered that Kaya World faced a half-destroyed world across the Astral Void, where deities appeared poised for war. After returning to West Tower, he learned Thoth’s true body had descended and was asked by Hooke Thoth to lend him something.

  • Ace observed the shattered Great Tree World and saw deities and powerful beings gathering between it and Kaya World.
  • Ace feared an imminent war between worlds and returned to the Inner World.
  • Tugan'er and a female deity discussed the approaching conflict and prepared for a prolonged war.
  • Ace returned to West Tower and noticed the city-state’s power flowing into the temple, suggesting Thoth’s true body had arrived.
  • Hooke Thoth approached Ace, and after Ace recognized him and apologized for his cautious reaction, Thoth said he wanted to borrow something.

Ch. 497Astral Summoning

Ace lent Thoth his remaining Status power in exchange for a larger share after Thoth became a true god, then studied the Astral Compass and devised a way to reach lower Astral worlds through summoning. He left the chapter preparing to project part of his consciousness into another world if its inhabitants built an altar and called upon him.

  • Thoth asked Ace to lend him all his remaining Status power and promised to redistribute it seventy-thirty after attaining true godhood, and Ace agreed under an oath witnessed by the River Styx.
  • Ace realized Thoth could enter the West Tower without being detected, so he sealed his meditation chamber and returned to the Mindscape to study the Astral Compass.
  • Ace reviewed the compass’s functions and considered the levels of the Great Tree World and Kaya World, concluding that he needed a way to travel across the Astral Void.
  • Ace divined that departure would bring prosperity while staying would bring peril, and resolved to pursue Astral Travel.
  • Ace added a summoning function to the Astral Compass and created an everlasting Dream Bubble that could reveal the coordinates of a lower world when its inhabitants called upon him.
  • Ace planned to project part of his consciousness into a lower Astral world if its inhabitants followed his instructions and built an Astral summoning altar.

Ch. 498Aberration

Ace scattered replicated Dream Bubbles into the lower Astral Sea and began reviewing a year of Elemental School research, but a witch from Hell warned Pontos that a prophesied crisis had arrived as demons and devils launched a widespread invasion. The chapter left Ace and Thoth preparing to resist while Mount Kaya could not help.

  • Ace used the Astral Compass to send more than a hundred thousand Dream Bubbles into lower layers of the Astral Sea, then left a clone to receive any replies.
  • Ace entered Gensokyo and studied the Elemental School's research from the past year.
  • A witch serving the Lust Archon entered Pontos's temple, warned him that the giant tree and a prophesied change had arrived, and began to reveal something before sealing his mouth.
  • Alasong, a demigod and leader of the Frost Demons, invaded Milne City, crushed King Milne Yves, and declared that the ancestor god Milne was occupied in the Astral Void.
  • Ace sensed two demigod-level evil auras near Nightglow City, and Thoth's clone told him that Abyssal sites and Hell's devils were in chaos across the main material plane.
  • Thoth warned Ace that Mount Kaya could not intervene, leaving them to resist the demons and devils themselves.

Ch. 499Preparation

As two Demon Lords threatened Salia and demons and devils spread through the Inner World, Ace organized Thoth City-state’s defenses and evacuated more than a thousand young seeds to Xilacool. Luther joined the southern warning effort while fearing for his family in the destroyed city of Milne, and his prophecy left their fate unknown.

  • Thoth told Ace to prepare the defenses while he focused on advancing toward true godhood.
  • Ace declared Thoth City-state at its highest readiness and summoned its powerful residents to discuss the crisis and defensive plans.
  • Ace revealed that Xilacool, a city developed in the Gensokyo Dream World, existed in the Outer World and ordered a batch of wizards and apprentices sent there.
  • Thoth City-state evacuated more than a thousand young seeds, sheltered ordinary residents underground, and raised its defenses to the highest level.
  • Luther joined the wizards setting up warning magic near the southern Abyssal Projection as he grieved over the destruction of Milne and hoped his family had survived.

Ch. 500The Play

King Tadeus awakened Damus, his son, as a Devil of Hatred and joined him against Rhonamuth. Rhonamuth trapped them in his play and sentenced them to execution.

  • King Tadeus took Praise of Frost and headed to the city cemetery after learning that an incarnation of Dekbah threatened the land.
  • Rhonamuth arrived at the palace and accused Tadeus of colluding with devils, then pursued him to the cemetery.
  • Tadeus stabbed Damus with Praise of Frost and poured his power into him, awakening him as a Legendary-rank Devil of Hatred.
  • Damus and Tadeus attacked Rhonamuth, but Rhonamuth activated Rhonamuth's Dream Theater and transformed the scene into the royal palace.
  • Rhonamuth stripped Damus and Tadeus of their power in the play and ordered their execution for defying their family and desecrating divine glory.

Ch. 501Rhythm

Rhonamuth’s attempt to execute Damus and Tadeus was disrupted by the Lust Archon, and he turned to preparing for Dekbah’s advance after Pontos refused to help. Peter also headed toward Tsimari while Ace followed Dekbah from afar, and Rhonamuth set a script to lure the Abyssal Lord into a trap.

  • The Lust Archon interrupted Rhonamuth’s script, freeing Damus and Tadeus, and the Elegant Goddess urged Rhonamuth to seek Pontos’s aid.
  • Peter, newly advanced to the Heart Illumination realm, left Dess Town for Tsimari as he feared the City-State was no longer safe.
  • Pontos refused Rhonamuth’s request for help, so Rhonamuth returned to Medimoth City to face Dekbah alone.
  • Luther reported Dekbah’s movements to the High Tower, while Ace followed the projection from afar and worried that its advance could leave them surrounded by demons.
  • Rhonamuth went north to confront Dekbah and wrote a three-act script meant to restrain the projection and trigger the Seal of Love.

Ch. 502Script Fragment

Ace watched Rhonamuth use his Destiny-linked script to trap Dekbah’s projection in a theatrical performance, but Pontos interrupted the final act. Ace severed Pontos’s arm, then secretly took a fragment of Rhonamuth’s script and fled.

  • Ace recognized Rhonamuth’s aura as connected to the River of Destiny and watched him fight Dekbah’s projection.
  • Rhonamuth summoned the Grand Theater and staged successive acts that bound Dekbah with Destiny’s power.
  • As Rhonamuth’s heart-shaped badge began transforming Dekbah, Pontos appeared and tried to tear it apart.
  • Thoth urged Ace to sever Pontos’s arm, and Ace teleported into battle and cut it off with the Calamity Sword.
  • Pontos struck Rhonamuth’s script from his hand, and Ace grabbed a falling fragment before knocking Pontos away and teleporting from the battlefield.
