Not enough!

Next!

Still not enough!

Another one!

In just half a day, Goku and Chiaotzu had only just surpassed their limits, defeating their clones while gaining an initial grasp of ki techniques.

Tien Shinhan, meanwhile, had defeated a full five or six clones in that same half a day!

If Mr. Popo had not repeatedly stated that the last Tien Shinhan clone already represented the highest power level he could produce, Tien Shinhan might still have kept going.

It was not because some peculiar battle-maniac obsession had awakened in Tien Shinhan.

Rather, the feeling of rapidly increasing his power level in evenly matched battles was simply too addictive.

At that moment, Tien Shinhan seemed to understand a little why Goku sometimes deliberately waited for his opponents to unleash their full strength before attacking in the Dragon Ball story.

What he sought was not merely to eliminate his enemies, but to keep growing stronger himself.

If his enemies were too weak, his drive to grow stronger would weaken as well.

Only when his enemies put him under a certain amount of pressure could he rapidly improve his strength through fierce battle.

And now, having broken his human limiter, Tien Shinhan was making full use of this trait-something akin to growing stronger against stronger opponents and rapidly improving through training and combat.

In half a day, after defeating five or six of his own clones, Tien Shinhan's power level had soared to nearly 700!

Such speed was something the old Tien Shinhan would never have dared hope for.

After all, before this, more than a decade of arduous training had only raised his power level to 180.

Sure enough, different environments could bring different rates of improvement.

And his decision to wish upon the Dragon Balls to break his human limiter had undoubtedly been a wise one!

Of course, while growing stronger, Tien Shinhan had also gained an initial grasp of Ki Sensing and ki manipulation techniques, just as Goku and Chiaotzu had.

He had defeated that final clone of himself with his eyes closed.

So this so-called seeing with the heart meant sensing his opponent's ki!

Whether attacking or defending, Ki Sensing was an extremely useful ability.

Related techniques such as Ki Suppression also had all kinds of ingenious uses.

Those, however, would require Tien Shinhan and the others to continue training before they could master them.

"You all have excellent talent!"

Just as all three had finished Mr. Popo's training, a slightly aged voice rang out.

A figure dressed in Kami's robes appeared with it.

Goku and Chiaotzu turned at the sound, and both received an enormous fright.

"Ah-it's King Piccolo!"

Even though King Piccolo had already been killed by Tien Shinhan, and Goku's current strength was enough to defeat King Piccolo easily, too.

The sudden sight of King Piccolo's appearance still made him cry out.

The oppressive presence King Piccolo had exuded during their earlier battle had been extraordinarily intense for Goku.

Beside him, Chiaotzu was so frightened that he stumbled and accidentally landed on the tiles of Kami's Lookout.

"Wasn't King Piccolo already destroyed? Why has he suddenly appeared at Kami's Lookout?

Mr. Popo, what's going on?"

Goku and Chiaotzu questioned Mr. Popo beside them, their faces full of shock.

"You've mistaken him for someone else. This gentleman is Earth's god, Kami, not an evil person like King Piccolo."

Mr. Popo immediately explained.

Although his explanation was perfectly clear, Goku and Chiaotzu still could not help looking at Kami's face and muttering.

"He looks exactly like King Piccolo. Why is one a god and the other a demon king?"

The two found the reality rather baffling.

Seeing that Goku and Chiaotzu still looked unconvinced, Mr. Popo turned toward Kami.

After all, the details concerned the original origins of Kami and King Piccolo.

Mr. Popo could not decide for himself whether to tell Tien Shinhan and the others.

Kami felt Mr. Popo's gaze and nodded with a smile.

"It's all right. None of them are bad people. But let me explain how it all happened myself.

Before I explain the truth, though, there is something I'm rather curious about."

As he spoke, Kami turned toward Tien Shinhan, who stood calmly to one side.

They had all seen his appearance, identical to King Piccolo's, yet while Goku and Chiaotzu were utterly shocked, Tien Shinhan showed no surprise at all, as though he had known everything already.

"Why don't you look surprised at all?"

Kami questioned Tien Shinhan in puzzlement.

"Your ki is different from King Piccolo's."

Tien Shinhan answered calmly.

That answer surprised Kami even more.

He had expected Tien Shinhan to say something about how appearance reflected the heart. Although he and King Piccolo looked alike, their behavior and expressions were completely different.

Instead, Tien Shinhan had answered him by drawing directly on the Ki Sensing ability he had only just begun to grasp.

That answer could only mean he truly loved martial arts training!

At that thought, a trace of gratification appeared on Kami's face.

Throughout their half-day of training and fighting, he had been silently watching from his residence at Kami's Lookout.

All three had performed exceptionally well, somewhat exceeding his original expectations, which was also why he could not resist appearing now.

And among the three astonishingly talented youths, Tien Shinhan's performance had been the most outstanding.

He could sense that, compared with half a day ago, the ki within Tien Shinhan had actually grown to more than twice its strength!

It was the first time he had witnessed such a rate of improvement since becoming Earth's Kami.

Thinking of his own advanced age, then looking at the young Tien Shinhan before him, Kami began to consider entrusting him with the position of Kami.

Whether that would actually be feasible, however, was something he could only determine after interacting with Tien Shinhan himself.

"Good. Putting what you've learned into practice. I never expected you to apply your newly acquired Ki Sensing ability so quickly.

In most circumstances, identifying opponents by their ki is indeed somewhat more reliable than observing them directly with your eyes.

But this world holds all kinds of wonders. Ki Sensing is a tool to assist you in combat. Even after truly mastering it, remember not to rely on it too much."

Kami praised the three with satisfaction, while also warning them that Ki Sensing was not all-powerful.

Goku and Chiaotzu were both somewhat puzzled. Ki Sensing was so convenient, reaching farther than their eyes and providing a more complete picture. Was even that not enough to make it all-powerful?

Of course, that was because they had never experienced it.

Tien Shinhan, however, was different. With memories of unusual beings such as the androids, as well as matters related to Ki Suppression, he immediately appreciated the weight of Kami's words.

Whether it was eyesight or Ki Sensing, both served to improve one's fighting and advance one's martial arts.

They needed to be mastered, but could not be relied upon excessively.
