Worse still, he had to have his makeup done by a dog.
Anyone with half a brain knew that couldn't possibly look good!
At last, every member of the Roaming Group looked utterly miserable.
The director was deeply gratified.
Once the staff had laid out all the cosmetics and tools one by one.
The director spoke:
"The sun is getting closer and closer to the sea now. You have to finish your makeup task before it sets completely.
You must use every cosmetic on the table. Leave out even one, and you'll lose your right to dinner."
Pei Tingyun stared at the eyeshadow palette full of nightmare shades on the table, at a loss for words.
Even someone who knew makeup would struggle to make those nightmare shades look good, wouldn't they?
Pei Tingyun had figured it out.
There was no finesse behind the director's design for this segment, just pure spite!
Forget it. I'll play along and give him some entertaining footage first.
Otherwise, who knows what other nonsense he'll pull tonight.
He wanted to finish work early, too.
Xie Huan had said earlier that there would be heavy rain tonight, and he didn't want to get caught in it on the way back.
Although Pei Tingyun also thought heavy rain tonight was rather unlikely.
But since Xie Huan was the one who had said it, Pei Tingyun couldn't help giving it some credence.
To save time, Pei Tingyun stopped looking too closely, picked up the foundation, and started applying it to Xie Huan's face.
Then he discovered that the difference between Xie Huan's skin tone and the foundation shade was anything but small.
How to put it?
Pei Tingyun felt as though he were painting the walls white in an unfinished apartment.
Once he embraced that idea, keeping his cheeks from lifting was genuinely difficult!
Xie Huan couldn't see his own face, so he had no idea why Pei Tingyun was holding back laughter.
All he wanted to know right now was what all these thingamajigs on the table were for.
Forget doing someone else's makeup-Xie Huan had never even had makeup applied to him in his entire life.
Pei Tingyun noticed his confusion and said:
"Just watch what I pick up and do the same."
Xie Huan understood.
He found the same foundation Pei Tingyun was holding on the table.
Then he picked up the same brush Pei Tingyun was using.
He copied him and started brushing it onto Pei Tingyun's face.
The instant the foundation brush touched his face, Pei Tingyun sensed something was wrong.
One look at how much foundation was left in Xie Huan's bottle, and Pei Tingyun exploded:
"Xie Huan, are you plastering a wall?! Does it need to be that thick?!"
But when Xie Huan heard that, he latched onto entirely the wrong point:
"Oh, hey, it really is like plastering! Now that you put it that way, your bro knows exactly what to do!"
Xie Huan continued with complete confidence, while Pei Tingyun struggled to keep his expression under control.
Comments in the livestream:
[Pei Tingyun: Will this face still be salvageable today?]
[Big bro really knows how to pick out the key point hahahaha.]
[Heeelp! Xie Huan seems to have found a new career path on Pei Tingyun's face.]
[Never mind whether the makeup's any good. Big bro's confidence is maxed out, at least.]
Over the next ten minutes, Xie Huan fully demonstrated what it meant to get every step right and every result wrong.
While Pei Tingyun was carefully applying foundation to Xie Huan.
Xie Huan had already plastered several quick coats of foundation onto Pei Tingyun's face.
If Pei Tingyun hadn't stopped him, Xie Huan could have used the entire bottle on his face.
The foundation was so thick that when it came time to draw his eyebrows, they couldn't even find them.
It was entirely up to Xie Huan to improvise.
The results of that improvisation were truly explosive.
Those eyebrows could only be described as a cross between Crayon Shin-chan and Bramble.
The two round, red pancakes on his cheekbones would have made the children in New Year prints hail him as a fellow professional.
His eyeliner consisted of two earthworms so twisted they were almost tying themselves into knots.
The eyeshadow was even better: he had gone straight for white.
All because Pei Tingyun had told Xie Huan, "Just use eyeshadow that goes with the color of the clothes."
Pei Tingyun was wearing black sportswear today.
And in Xie Huan's aesthetic judgment, black and white were a perfect match.
So black clothes naturally called for white eyeshadow.
By the time the sun had fully set, the makeup segment was over.
Pei Tingyun took a look in the mirror.
He genuinely failed to recognize the person in the mirror as himself.
He just thought the person in the mirror looked as though he had a particularly healthy appetite.
Because the lipstick had gone all over his face.
And it was the shade that looked most like blood.
When Pei Tingyun opened his mouth, he felt as though he had just eaten someone, all smeared with blood.
This was too hard to judge.
Pei Tingyun could only repeat silently to himself:
It's okay, it's okay, it's okay...
This face should still be salvageable after a wash... right?
Actually, Xie Huan hadn't fared much better himself.
His face was painted stark white, while his neck was pitch-dark.
Pei Tingyun had originally wanted to add a little contour to his cheeks.
But he had accidentally applied too much.
It looked as though he had been punched twice, leaving two bruises.
The eyeshadow and blush Pei Tingyun had applied were perfectly serviceable.
It was just that there were no other lipstick shades to choose from.
Even though Pei Tingyun had used a very light hand and applied it perfectly.
That blood-colored lipstick still looked deeply out of place on Xie Huan's lips.
Tang Keni and Yao Xuan's pair had gone even further.
Figuring neither of them knew how to do makeup anyway, they simply unleashed their creativity.
They had indeed used every single cosmetic.
They had just used all of them in the wrong places.
Contour on the eyes, eyebrow pencil for a mustache.
Lipstick on the eyelids, eyeshadow on the cheeks...
The whole approach was sheer unpredictability and visual assault.
The sole professional, Gu Lin, had actually given the dog a rather handsome look.
But when it was the dog's turn to do his makeup, the scene wasn't nearly as pretty.
Although the director had lowered the difficulty for their pair.
Gu Lin's makeup only had to be applied using the dog's paw.
But that dog's paw wouldn't cooperate!
Gu Lin held the dog's paw and dipped it into the eyeshadow palette, intending to pick up just one shade.
But the dog had ideas of his own.
His big paw broke free of Gu Lin's grip and pressed straight down onto the palette.
Every last one of those colorful shades stuck to it.
Then he lifted his paw and slapped the whole lot onto Gu Lin's face.
By the time the dog's paw had dipped into every cosmetic.
Gu Lin's face had become a paint palette.
The five of them looked at one another, then all burst out laughing.
Tang Keni laughed so hard that he dropped to his knees and pounded the ground.
He finally managed to recover, only to look up and see another face. His legs, which had just been about to stand, smoothly dropped to their knees again.
He couldn't stop laughing at all.
Even Pei Tingyun, who was always good at managing his expressions, couldn't control his face in the slightest, his shoulders shaking with laughter.
The director enjoyed this segment most of all.
He even started a poll in the livestream: [Whose full makeup looks best?]
In the end, the viewers actually voted the husky's full makeup the prettiest!
Comments:
[I can't take it anymore! What do you gain by making me laugh to death?]
[Except for Gu Lin, everyone had this air of total disregard for whether the other person survived while doing their makeup. The husky absolutely deserves this win!]
[Another entry in the "humans can't even beat a dog" series.]
At that moment, the director's twisted sense of humor was immensely satisfied.
But it still wasn't enough.
Now that they had finally made fools of themselves, he couldn't let them wash it off so easily.
The Roaming Group had to eat their elegant candlelit dinner wearing those faces of "exquisite makeup."
The Roaming Group members still hadn't become fully immune to everyone else's bizarre assortment of makeup, and were at the stage where they couldn't hold back their laughter.
Hearing this news left them not knowing whether to laugh or cry.
