• Chen Jin survived the storm, settled in an abandoned shrine, and began cultivating with the Dragon-Tiger Inner Treasury Mysterious Scripture and moon visualization.
• The monkey king mistook Chen Jin for an immortal, and Chen Jin accepted its service as the troop settled around Banyan Tree Slope.

Chen Jin escaped the Yan Household’s pursuit, endured a lightning tribulation that restored his living body, and hid in the Yan Household Market while rebuilding his cultivation. When the trapped travelers came under attack by zombies, an unknown figure intervened near Old Man He’s shack.

• Chen Jin joined the Demon-Ghost Alliance’s attack on the Yan Household Stronghold, but fled underground after the battle turned against the alliance and the black bear spirit was killed.
• Through winter, Chen Jin cultivated underground and returned to the mountains in spring, where he found the hanging coffins gone and settled in a secluded valley.
• Chen Jin drew lightning to himself and used the storm to disperse his stagnant Yin Baleful Corpse Qi, opening his Three Yin Meridians of the Foot and restoring his living body.
• Disguised as a mountain forager, Chen Jin entered the Yan Household Market and discovered that bounty notices sought him and Yuan Bai.
• Chen Jin recalled how Yan Hui had betrayed him after his Qi Seed was damaged, then resolved to cultivate Yin and Yang Qi without repeating his past mistakes.
• Chen Jin practiced talisman-making and refined the Slay Evil Sword, while Old Man He warned him that people were disappearing in the mountains.

Chen Jin helped defeat the corpse demon and uncovered the Yan Household’s secrets before returning to the Lower Court, where he rebuilt his cultivation and prepared for the Sword Competition. He advanced through his first match and faced Song Wushang in the third round.

• Chen Jin disrupted the corpse demon’s control over the zombies, helped the defenders destroy them, and cut off the demon’s arm with the Slay Evil Sword.
• Chen Jin entered the ruined Yan Household stronghold, discovered his old coffin and the corpse yard, recovered the Corpse-Driving Bell and Pot Heaven Bag, and killed the attackers who confronted him.
• Chen Jin escaped before Xue Hongmei arrived, then returned to the Lower Court, where Yan Hui recognized him and resolved to seek revenge.
• Chen Jin refined the Pot Heaven Bag, hid the Slay Evil Sword, and began rebuilding his Qi Seeds and Sword Seed while rumors about him spread through the Lower Court.
• Chen Jin visited the gravely injured Qin Jianyuan, received the Ice Soul Divine Baleful Intent, and formed a deep-blue Sword Seed after seven days of cultivation.
• Chen Jin registered for the Sword Competition and struck Wu Jing with his Sword Intent when Wu Jing insulted him, alarming Liu Chen and Yan Hui.
• Chen Jin advised Yu Chengzhi during their first-round match, and Yu Chengzhi conceded, and Chen Jin then drew Song Wushang for the third round.
• Song Wushang faced Chen Jin on the platform and declared his intention to defeat him, while Chen Jin drew his ordinary sword.
