Peter rolled his eyes, stepped forward and interrupted, "Okay, you four, let this girl take a breath."
Tandy laughed softly, "It's okay. I... I'm single now." Flash immediately showed his signature evil smile after hearing this.
Tandy looked at Liz again. "If I want to buy clothes, I don't have much money now, so I might have to wait until later." Liz shrugged indifferently.
Tandy then replied to Mark, "As for music, I quite like it, but I only listen to soft music." Mark mumbled something that he couldn't hear clearly.
Finally, Tandy looked at MJ: "As for Peter...Peter is my best friend."
Hearing this, MJ raised his eyebrows, turned around and winked at Peter.
Peter rolled his eyes. "She's exaggerating. Okay, does anyone want to watch a movie? How about relaxing?"
"Okay!" Everyone said in unison.
"The co-pilot is mine!" MJ screamed immediately.
"Damn it!" Liz cursed in frustration.
Flash showed a charming smile to Tandy, "Don't worry Tandy, you can sit on my lap."
Tandy shrank his neck as if frightened. "Otherwise... or I won't go. It seems there is no room in the car."
"How can that work!" Mark laughed boldly, "It's called squeezing and it's healthier, just think of it as an adventure!"
In the next few days, Tandy and MJ got along surprisingly well. Compared to Liz's overly outgoing and enthusiastic personality, MJ's thoughtfulness made Tandy feel very comfortable.
The two girls were sitting in Peter's room reading fashion magazines, but Peter was forced to huddle in the corner and listen to their talk.
"What do you think of the new autumn product catalog?" Liz handed over a magazine.
"It feels like the designer has finally found his groove." Tandy commented, "Maria Buscemi is indeed a genius, but it's a pity that he is too lazy."
"That's right!" MJ echoed enthusiastically, "She has no idea how much talent she has wasted! What if--"
Peter couldn't bear it anymore, holding his head and wailing. "Please! Can we talk about something else?! Any topic will do!"
Liz glared at him fiercely. "Shut up Peter, it's bestie time now. If you don't want to hear it, you can go out."
"But this is my room!"
"Tandy has been living here for the past two days, so technically it is her room now." MJ retorted confidently.
Tandy couldn't help but smile, "Yes Peter, she is right."
"Oh my god, I can't get through this day." Peter was muttering, and the phone in his pocket suddenly vibrated violently.
He took it out and saw a line of information popping up on the screen. "The quantum field has been stabilized."
Peter The corners of his mouth instantly rose. "Beautiful!"
He stood up and grabbed his coat and backpack.
"Where are you going?" MJ asked curiously.
"Go to work. Reed has made a major breakthrough in our cooperation project." Peter explained excitedly, "If this step is successful, my own personal project can also take a big step forward."
Tandy was a little surprised. "Work? You have a job?"
Peter smiled, "How else do you think I got that car? Didn't I tell you that I built it myself?"
"Oh... right." Tandy suddenly realized, "Where do you work?"
Liz took the lead and said with a smile, "I'll scare you if I tell you, Peter is working together with Fantastic Four."
Tandy's eyes widened and he looked at Peter with an almost adoring look. "You... you are working for a superhero?!"
"It's not a part-time job, it's a cooperation." Peter and MJ corrected him in unison. Everyone always regarded him as an employee of Fantastic Four instead of a partner. This prejudice was too deep.
"That's amazing..." Tandy took a breath and sighed in a low voice, "Peter, you are so amazing..."
Peter waved his hand. "It's nothing. By the way, I may be away for a few days, don't worry. Matt and Aunt May will arrange everything."
"How many days? Where are you going?" Tandy was a little worried.
"I'm not going anywhere, just in the lab. But once I'm involved in a large-scale project like this, I usually don't leave the lab for several days. I was on vacation this week, and now the vacation is over. I'll go home after finishing it."
"Okay..." Tandy didn't know what to say for a moment.
MJ waved his hand. "Relax Peter, we are here and we will take good care of her."
Peter nodded gratefully. "Thanks, MJ. Then you can chat slowly, I'll leave first!"
After saying that, Peter rushed out of the house in a hurry. Antimatter Universe... He was finally going to take this crucial step!
Three days later.
Baxter Building Lab.
Peter and Reed·Richards's eyes were bloodshot, staring at the huge portal device in front of them. Both of them had green stubble on their chins, Reed's was especially obvious.
The entire laboratory was as chaotic as a garbage dump at the moment, with empty coffee cups littered on the floor, and various complex calculation formulas and design drawings scattered everywhere.
"Are you ready?" Peter wanted to ask, but found that his mouth was extremely dry.
He rubbed his sore temples and then said in a hoarse voice, "Are you ready?"
"Okay." Reed breathed a long sigh of relief, "The generator has been repaired. All matter passing through the portal will be negatively charged, allowing us to shuttle between the two worlds."
Before he finished speaking, Reed yawned violently.
"Then come on." Peter sat in front of the console and tapped the keyboard quickly, "The monitoring data are all normal... it's a mule or a horse, pull it out and run around."
Reed pressed the red button on the console hard.
In an instant, the space in the center of the door frame began to distort violently, bursting with dazzling blue light. After a few seconds, the portal completely stabilized.
Through the light curtain, Peter saw another world - the familiar dead wasteland and the slowly extinguishing stars in the distant deep sky.
"It's... so beautiful." Reed murmured to himself.
"Yes... it is indeed beautiful." Peter responded softly, then decisively pressed the close button, and the portal collapsed and disappeared.
The two of them collapsed on the chairs as if they had drained all their strength.
Reed rubbed his swollen eyes, his voice filled with deep exhaustion. "Peter... Does all this really make sense?"
Peter rubbed his sour eyes. "What do you mean?"
"If I have discovered this world in another parallel universe... does that mean that everything I do now is just copying other people's achievements? I am just repeating the path that others have taken? Does it really make sense for us to do this...?"
Peter was silent for a long time, looked at Reed's confused eyes, and said slowly, "Reed... Of course it makes sense. Maybe on a macro scale, everything will eventually come to nothing. But at this moment, here, we are making our world better. It is for the people living in our dimension."
Peter stood up and stretched his sore muscles. "This is like two villages that also suffered from famine. One of the villages invented a new irrigation technology and ushered in a bumper harvest. Should the other village give up the struggle? Reed·Richards, we are still in the midst of famine, and we must not forget this. This is our reality, and it is the people who live here and the ideas here who have shaped us. There is no need to compare ourselves with anyone else, otherwise we will forget what we are fighting for."
