Final Thoughts

Whew. It was finally finished.

The first big long-form novel of my life had finally landed smoothly, without repeating the mistake from my previous book where the plot density was arranged misleadingly, resulting in a rushed ending.

Originally, I thought that after typing out the final chapter, I would feel something like melancholy, loss, or reluctance to part with it, but I did not.

After finishing it, I even felt a little excited.

I could finally start a new book!

I could finally show everyone the newly born wild ideas in my head!

I finally no longer had to be constrained by all those damn rules and restrictions of Douluo!

Happy!

Writing Douluo fanfiction was truly torture. Bugs where the earlier and later plots contradicted each other, logical collapses, abstract characters, ridiculous ethical relationships, inconsistent settings before and after, even repeated retcons within the same book—god damn it.

It was truly torture.

Do you know how many brain cells I killed trying to smooth over all those wildly conflicting bugs and settings for Tang San?

It was like taking over a broken ship that looked luxurious on the outside but was completely rotten within, and barely patching it together from scraps so it could keep moving forward.

So... I already could not wait to write something original.

I absolutely did not want to become the kind of king who lived off one old book until the day he died!

I yearned for a breakthrough!

Even if my next book flopped, I still did not want to be a useless hack living off past glory!

Only by stepping out of the comfort zone could one improve!

Barring any surprises, the next book would lean more toward comedy and wild ideas. It would probably meet you brothers around the end of November
