Ch. 21Execute God!

Lin Jie convinced the remaining players that God was a werewolf and that they could execute him by voting. The players unanimously cast their final votes for number zero, and Lin Jie announced that they would execute God.

  • Lin Jie declared that God was the only werewolf and argued that the players could kill him by following the game’s rules.
  • Lin Jie revealed that his final check had identified God as a werewolf with number zero.
  • Lin Jie urged everyone to risk their final lives by voting to execute God.
  • Chen Li, Xia Qu, Li Xin, Zhou Lan, and Zheng Yi each voted for number zero.
  • Lin Jie announced that all the good players had unanimously chosen to execute God.

Ch. 22Victory?

Lin Jie killed the werewolf by removing his ring, and Fox appeared to offer the winners a chance to join the Administrators instead of returning to the mortal world. After everyone chose to leave through a portal, Lin Jie sensed something was wrong and stopped to question Fox.

  • The werewolf lunged at Lin Jie but froze, allowing Lin Jie to remove his ring and kill him in a violent explosion.
  • The players celebrated their victory, but Fox arrived with black-clad subordinates and introduced himself as the game's Administrator.
  • Fox offered Lin Jie a gold-rank ring and a place among the Administrators, but Lin Jie refused.
  • Fox offered the other players work and benefits, but they also chose to return to the mortal world.
  • Fox opened a portal, and Zhou Lan entered it first after Fox promised the winners were protected by the rules.
  • Lin Jie stopped before entering the portal, sensed something was strange, and told Fox he had a question.

Ch. 23The Ring

Lin Jie learned that his blank role and altered Werewolf game resulted from his ring’s Mutation, then heard how ring colors determined Mutation strength. The chapter ended when he noticed his ring was black, unlike the white rings other newcomers received.

  • Fox explained that Lin Jie's Mutation had changed the Werewolf game's rules and raised its difficulty to purple rating.
  • Fox said Lin Jie had cleared the game by becoming the Seer and voting out God, though he could also have become the lone werewolf and killed all eight good players.
  • Lin Jie declined Fox's invitation to join the Administrators and went to the portal, where Chen Li thanked him for saving the players.
  • Chen Li explained that rings connected people to the Realm of the Dead, that losing a ring meant death, and that ring colors ranked Mutation strength from white through gold.
  • Lin Jie realized that his ring was black despite Chen Li saying newcomers had white rings.

Ch. 24Return to Reality

Lin Jie returned to the moment before his death rather than coming back to life, and found himself inside Zhou Lan's mansion with his memories intact. After dealing with Li Xin, he stole the documents and photographs that could be used against Zhou Lan and Zheng Yi.

  • Lin Jie learned from Fox that the portal gave him a chance to start over, then returned to the moment he had broken into Zhou Lan's mansion.
  • Lin Jie realized time had been reset and decided to use his memories to catch the man who had killed him.
  • Li Xin came to investigate the alarm, and Lin Jie subdued her after learning she did not remember Liu Yunyun or playing Werewolf.
  • Lin Jie opened the hidden safe and took the records of Zhou Lan and Zheng Yi's criminal dealings.
  • Lin Jie returned to the unconscious Li Xin and began removing his clothes.

Ch. 25Slipping Out of the Shell

Lin Jie disguised the unconscious Li Xin as a decoy and reenacted his theft plan to draw Zhou Lan and Zheng Yi to the villa vault. After the bomb exploded, Lin Jie watched from a safe distance and set out to find the mysterious gunman who had shot him.

  • Lin Jie dressed unconscious Li Xin in his clothes, made her appear to be his double, and placed a bomb in her hand.
  • Lin Jie called Zheng Yi in disguise and summoned him alone to Zhou Lan's villa vault, while Zhou Lan went to investigate with a hunting gun.
  • Zhou Lan found the masked figure posing as Lin Jie and threatened him, then Zheng Yi arrived and tackled the figure.
  • Zhou Lan grabbed the bomb and pressed its switch, activating it as Lin Jie called from a gas station and explained the danger.
  • Zhou Lan pulled back the hood and discovered Li Xin beneath it before the bomb exploded; far away, Lin Jie prepared to search for the mysterious gunman.

Ch. 26The butterfly effect

Lin Jie waited for the gunman who had killed him before, but the expected shooting never happened, and he went home believing that small changes had altered events. As he entered his house, someone pressed a gun to the back of his head.

  • Lin Jie waited in a secluded spot for the gunman, while Chen Li took Xia Qu on a shortcut after an explosion blocked their road.
  • Chen Li's taxi narrowly avoided an ambulance, then lost control and plunged into a lake with Xia Qu inside.
  • The gunman never appeared at Lin Jie's expected location, so Lin Jie concluded that changes to the past may have caused a butterfly effect.
  • Lin Jie drove home without incident and wondered whether his previous death and the strange game had been real.
  • A hidden person pressed a gun to the back of Lin Jie's head as he entered his home.

Ch. 27An inescapable fate

Lin Jie’s sister took a bullet meant for him, and he killed the gunman after learning they were both Realm of the Dead players. Believing Lin Zhi was dead and that his own death was unavoidable, Lin Jie shot himself at midnight and woke up before Fox again.

  • A gunman held Lin Jie at gunpoint and claimed that Lin Jie had killed him in a past that had not happened yet.
  • Lin Zhi took the bullet meant for Lin Jie, and Lin Jie beat the gunman and shot him dead.
  • The gunman told Lin Jie that Lin Zhi had an obsession with living and might return from the Realm of the Dead, while insisting that Lin Jie was destined to die.
  • Lin Jie sat between Lin Zhi and the gunman’s bodies for hours, then pressed the pistol to his temple and pulled the trigger as midnight struck.
  • Lin Jie opened his eyes in the Realm of the Dead and saw Fox welcoming him back with a surprise.

Ch. 28Surprise

Lin Jie learned that clearing games only earned limited lifespan and refused Fox’s offer until he discovered that his sister Lin Zhi had joined a green-rated game. He entered the game and found Chen Li, Xia Qu, and Lin Zhi among the players, ending with Lin Zhi recognizing him as her brother.

  • Lin Jie confronted Fox, who admitted that returning to life was not guaranteed and that players could earn more lifespan by surviving harder games.
  • Lin Jie refused Fox’s offer to join a green-rated game, insisting that he wanted to find his sister and return to life permanently.
  • Fox revealed that Lin Zhi had arrived in the Realm of the Dead and agreed to join the green-rated game, so Lin Jie accepted the invitation.
  • Lin Jie entered the game room, where White Rabbit welcomed him and introduced the other five players.
  • Lin Jie recognized Chen Li and Xia Qu among the players, then saw Lin Zhi, who called him her big brother and rushed toward him.

Ch. 29Reunion

Lin Jie reunited with his sister Lin Zhi and joined five other players for a Green-rated game called the Human-Ghost Game. White Rabbit explained that one hidden Little Ghost had to make all six players throw matching talismans into a bonfire within nine rounds, but a player interrupted to point out a loophole.

  • Lin Zhi hugged Lin Jie and told him how frightened she had been after waking in the strange place.
  • White Rabbit introduced the players and revealed that Lin Jie was the rookie king who had killed an Administrator.
  • Lin Jie, Zhao Tian, Yu Ze, Chen Li, Xia Qu, and Lin Zhi introduced themselves, while Lin Jie wondered why Chen Li and Xia Qu seemed not to remember their previous game.
  • White Rabbit explained that the six players would secretly be assigned to the Human or Little Ghost faction and would each throw a colored talisman into the bonfire during nine rounds.
  • White Rabbit said the Little Ghost won by completing a ritual with six matching talismans, while the Humans won by preventing it, but a player interrupted to call the rules flawed.

Ch. 30Loophole

White Rabbit explained the open talisman ritual and its rewards, while Yu Ze argued that the rules made it nearly impossible for the imp to win. After the players drew roles, Lin Jie discovered that he had drawn the imp card, leaving him opposed to his sister, who appeared to be human.

  • Yu Ze challenged the game rules, and White Rabbit punished him for interrupting before explaining the wildcard talismans and victory conditions.
  • Lin Jie reasoned that the humans had a strong advantage and hoped to draw a human role alongside Lin Zhi.
  • Chen Li, Xia Qu, the two veterans, and Lin Zhi each drew a role card, with Lin Zhi appearing relieved by hers.
  • Lin Jie drew the final card and discovered that he was the imp.

Ch. 31The Little Ghost

Lin Jie claimed he had a strategy that would let every human earn the maximum reward and double lifespan while preventing the summoning ritual. After the others disputed who should cast the necessary red and blue talismans, Lin Jie began to explain his plan.

  • Lin Zhi realized Lin Jie had drawn Little Ghost, and he hid his identity while she offered to help him.
  • Chen Li and Zhao Tian argued over whether the players should coordinate their talisman choices or vote at random.
  • Lin Jie proposed casting one red, one blue, and four multicolored talismans to block the ritual while maximizing the group’s prize money.
  • Zhao Tian pointed out that only the players casting multicolored talismans would earn money, prompting the others to fight over those slots.
  • Lin Zhi silenced the argument and defended her brother, and Lin Jie promised he could still secure double rewards for every human.

Ch. 32The plan for humanity's total victory

Lin Jie proposed a rotating plan for the six people to submit red and blue talismans, prevent the summoning ritual, and share the maximum prize money and doubled lifespan reward. After the group accepted the plan, Zhao Tian questioned who would submit first, and suggested Lin Jie go first.

  • Lin Jie explained that two people would submit red and blue talismans each round while the others submitted multicolored talismans, with the red-and-blue duty rotating among the group.
  • Lin Jie said that after nine rounds, everyone would have earned six million yuan, thwarted the summoning ritual, and qualified for the doubled lifespan reward.
  • Chen Li, Zhao Tian, Xia Qu, and Yu Ze praised Lin Jie's plan and accepted it, while Lin Zhi worried because she believed her brother was the imp.
  • Zhao Tian asked why the imp would cooperate, and Lin Jie argued that anyone who disobeyed the plan would be exposed as the imp and killed.
  • Zhao Tian raised the question of the submission order and suggested that Lin Jie submit his talisman first.

Ch. 33I am the little ghost

Lin Jie led the players through a ritual strategy that appeared to guarantee a human victory, while secretly following the little ghost’s plan. After six rounds passed without incident, he revealed his identity as the little ghost in the seventh round.

  • Zhao Tian proposed the talisman order, but Lin Jie accepted going first and changed the order so Zhao Tian went before Yu Ze.
  • Lin Jie and Lin Zhi placed blue and red talisman papers in the first round, and the other players used multicolored papers, causing the summoning to fail.
  • Xia Qu and Chen Li, then Zhao Tian and Yu Ze, placed the red and blue papers in the next two rounds, while the remaining players used multicolored papers.
  • The players repeated the alternating ritual through six rounds, earning prize money and believing Lin Jie’s plan would secure a human victory.
  • In the seventh round, Lin Jie put a multicolored talisman paper into the fire instead of the blue one and announced that he was the little ghost.

Ch. 34All-Member Coexistence Plan

Lin Jie revealed he was the little ghost and proposed the All-Member Coexistence Plan, offering to split his prize money so every human could become an accomplice and survive. Xia Qu accepted the plan, while Chen Li hesitated over a red talisman after realizing he might be the one to die.

  • Lin Jie revealed himself as the little ghost, and Lin Zhi cast a multicolored talisman and blocked the fire before anyone else could vote.
  • Lin Jie explained that everyone could cast multicolored talismans, share his prize money, and survive by becoming accomplices.
  • Lin Zhi cleared the path to the fire, and Xia Qu accepted the Coexistence Plan by casting a multicolored talisman.
  • Chen Li rejected Lin Jie's offer and picked up a red talisman, but hesitated when he realized casting it could make him the one who died.

Ch. 35An open stratagem

Chen Li chose the multicolored talisman paper while insisting he still supported Humanity's Complete Victory Plan, leaving Zhao Tian torn between safety and resisting Lin Jie. Yu Ze urged Zhao Tian to keep fighting for a human victory, and Zhao Tian was close to asking him one more question.

  • Chen Li realized Lin Jie's Coexistence Plan pressured everyone to choose multicolored talisman paper and saw that refusing could leave him to die alone.
  • Chen Li put in the multicolored talisman paper, claimed he was still following Humanity's Complete Victory Plan, and told the remaining players to use red and blue.
  • Zhao Tian weighed the safety and prize money of Lin Jie's plan against the risks and lower rewards of resisting it.
  • Yu Ze stopped Zhao Tian from putting in multicolored talisman paper and insisted they fight for a human victory.
  • Yu Ze argued that the humans who resisted Lin Jie were the true heroes, and Zhao Tian began to ask him one more thing.

Ch. 36Burning trust

Yu Ze revealed that he had secretly planned to kill Zhao Tian and threw in the final multicolored talisman paper, completing the ritual. As the game ended, White Rabbit named Lin Jie its sole winner.

  • Zhao Tian followed Yu Ze's advice and threw a blue talisman paper into the fire.
  • Yu Ze revealed that he had killed Zhao Tian's family in the real world and had been pretending to be his friend to kill him again.
  • Yu Ze threw in a multicolored talisman paper, fulfilling the matching-color condition and completing the ritual.
  • Yu Ze questioned Lin Jie about switching the order, and Lin Jie said they had both achieved their goals.
  • The fire erupted in brilliant multicolored light, and White Rabbit announced Lin Jie as the game's sole winner.

Ch. 37The Devil Reborn

Lin Jie won the Human-Ghost Game after the devil was resurrected, but learned that he could not share his lifespan with Lin Zhi. Fox offered him a way to bring his sister back by becoming an Administrator, and Lin Jie accepted.

  • The devil emerged from the fire, opened a black rift, and vanished after sharing a strange look with Lin Jie.
  • White Rabbit killed Zhao Tian and announced Lin Jie as the sole winner, exempting Lin Zhi, Xia Qu, Chen Li, and Yu Ze from the death penalty.
  • Yu Ze thanked Lin Jie for helping him achieve his goal, left his share of the prize money to the others, and departed.
  • Fox awarded Lin Jie two weeks of lifespan and ten million yuan, but explained that lifespan could not be shared.
  • Lin Jie gave Xia Qu and Chen Li his contact information and asked Fox how Lin Zhi could earn lifespan quickly.
  • Fox offered Lin Jie the chance to become an Administrator who could allocate lifespan, and Lin Jie accepted.

Ch. 38Masks

Lin Jie chose a stag mask to become an Administrator, but an explosion interrupted the initiation and Fox fled from the attacking Resistance Army. Lin Jie and Lin Zhi emerged into a wasteland where a white-armored army was freeing people from the death-game houses, and its bearded general offered to save them.

  • Fox admitted that the masks represented the Administrators and invited Lin Jie to choose one.
  • Lin Jie selected a stag mask despite Lin Zhi's warning, and Fox awakened it with an incantation.
  • An explosion destroyed the Mask Corridor before Lin Jie could put on the mask, and Fox identified the approaching attackers as the Resistance Army before escaping through a portal.
  • Lin Jie rescued Lin Zhi from the rubble, and they discovered the corridor was one of many houses where people had been forced to play death games.
  • The white-armored army defeated the animal-headed Administrators and began evacuating the people from the houses.
  • The bearded general approached Lin Jie and Lin Zhi and offered to save them.

Ch. 39A chance encounter in the truck

Lin Jie and his sister joined a truck carrying Xia Qu and Chen Li, who explained that the Realm of Life was a Resistance Army opposing the Administrators. Zhou Yun revealed that the group had specifically rescued Lin Jie based on the Oracle’s predictions, leaving Lin Jie asking who the Oracle was.

  • Lin Jie and his sister boarded a Resistance Army truck and reunited with Xia Qu and Chen Li.
  • Xia Qu told Lin Jie that the Realm of Life opposed the Administrators and aimed to help people return to reality.
  • Zhou Yun introduced himself as a general of the Realm of Life and said their leader had ordered him to rescue Lin Jie.
  • Zhou Yun claimed that lifespan rewards and returns to reality were lies, and that Lin Jie’s apparent return had been an Illusion.
  • Zhou Yun explained that the Realm of Life had attacked the Administrators’ death-game sites to rescue newcomers and had also targeted Lin Jie.
  • Zhou Yun said the Oracle had predicted Lin Jie’s arrival and choices, and Lin Jie asked who the Oracle was.

Ch. 40The Oracle

Zhou Yun explained that Oracles could predict the future and that the Realm of Life had one, while Lin Jie learned rings could be removed safely by their owners. Lin Jie concealed his black ring with Zhao Tian’s green one, then discovered that Lin Zhi’s memories of their past differed sharply from his own.

  • Zhou Yun told Lin Jie that Oracles had the Prophecy Mutation, were extremely rare, and had given a vague answer about whether the Realm of Life would escape the Realm of the Dead.
  • Lin Jie learned that a ring could be taken off safely as long as its owner kept it, and realized another person taking it away was what caused death.
  • Zhou Yun said black rings did not exist, so Lin Jie secretly switched his black ring for Zhao Tian’s green ring and showed Zhou Yun the green one.
  • Lin Jie told Lin Zhi to keep his black ring secret, then asked whether she remembered how she had come to this world.
  • Lin Zhi said a stranger had shot her while she was home alone and that Lin Jie had been missing for a day, contradicting Lin Jie’s memory that he had been there and she had taken a bullet for him.
