Escorted by Snape, Sean safely returned to the Slytherin Common Room. Someone had already noticed that Slytherin had gained ten points, but every Slytherin student had been in the Common Room at the time except Sean. Now that they saw Snape bringing Sean back, they naturally knew who had earned those ten points.
"Sean, you vanished the moment I looked away. Where did you go? And..." Blaise glanced at the others in the Common Room before lowering his voice and asking Sean, "Someone noticed our House gained ten points just now. Was that you?"
There was no need to hide it. Anyone who wanted to investigate could easily find out who had earned those points, so Sean nodded. "It was me. The Headmaster gave me the points, but Gryffindor got points too. Our advantage isn't that big."
Sean did not conceal his words. He was answering Blaise, but he was also deliberately letting the others hear.
A hint of delight appeared on Blaise's face as he listened. "That's great! With these ten points, the points you lost before should be completely made up for, right? And if we count it up, you even gained another five or six points. Starting today, your debt is completely cleared."
Hearing that, Sean nodded in sudden realization. He had only told Blaise that he had gained ten points, but even Sean himself had overlooked the fact that these points completely erased the ones he had lost before. In other words, he had repaid his debt and no longer owed his House anything.
At that thought, a relieved smile appeared on Sean's face. The feeling of suddenly casting off a burden from his shoulders left him quite satisfied.
The Slytherins knew how to behave; this was also the most basic virtue of pure-bloods. No one rashly came forward to ask questions. In any case, there were no secrets between Hogwarts students. If they were truly curious, they only needed to ask around the next morning.
People like Andy only needed to spend a few silver Sickles to learn about the recent major events at Hogwarts.
Speaking of Andy, as Sean made his way back to his room from the Common Room's hall, he happened to see Andy waiting outside his door. Sean glanced around, nodded to Andy, then opened the door and let Blaise and Andy into his room.
The moment he pushed open the door, Kulkan slipped out from Sean's sleeve, quickly crawled into his nest, ate the snake food inside, coiled up, and went to sleep.
After glancing at Kulkan and confirming that there was nothing wrong, Sean lightly tapped with his Wand. A House-elf immediately appeared beside him. After respectfully bowing in greeting, it asked what Sean needed.
This House-elf was named Brew, and he was the House-elf Sean had used the longest.
"Honored Mr. Sean, what do you require today? Brew is delighted to serve you."
Seeing Brew trembling with excitement, Sean smiled and said, "Bring the three of us some hot black tea. If possible, we didn't eat enough earlier, so bring us something easy to eat too. Sandwiches, for example."
"At once, sir!"
Watching Brew vanish with a pop, Sean could not help but marvel. House-elf magic differed from wizard magic; it was a system entirely separate from all other Magical Creatures and humans. No matter how powerful a wizard was, they could not use Apparition within Hogwarts, yet House-elves could do so without the slightest problem.
Pop!
With another pop, Brew returned to Sean's side carrying the food. After setting it down and repeatedly expressing his loyalty to Sean, Brew finally left.
Blaise and Andy were old acquaintances, and this was not their first or second time visiting Sean's room, so neither stood on ceremony. They immediately grabbed their portions and began eating and drinking heartily, with no regard for Slytherin etiquette.
After they finished eating and drinking, Sean looked at Andy. "Andy, keep it brief. I want to rest soon."
In truth, Sean wanted to open the panel and see what he had gained from his Duel with the Troll, but it was inconvenient to do so before settling everything else.
This was a magical world, after all, and everyone in the school was sharp as monkeys. If Sean stared at empty space once or twice, it could be taken for daydreaming. But after three or four times, anyone observant would begin to suspect something. Coupled with the fact that he showed noticeable improvement after every Duel, even if they did not know about the panel, they might suspect he possessed some magical item—needlessly bringing trouble upon himself.
Hearing Sean's words, Andy immediately nodded. "Then I'll keep it brief. Our Mind Recovery Potion sales have been quite good recently. Because ours are much cheaper than the ones in Hogsmeade, and the quality is stable and reliable, upper-year students and students from other Houses have been asking me about them and buying them. We're already struggling to keep up with demand, so I wanted to discuss whether we can increase production."
Sean looked at the anticipation written all over Andy's face. He pretended to hesitate in thought for a while before finally nodding slowly. "Andy, you know that brewing potions takes up quite a bit of my time. Right now, I provide you with ten Mind Recovery Potions per week. I can increase that number to fifteen, but I need to raise my share to seventy-five percent."
Andy had looked pleased when he heard that Sean could increase the quantity, but when he heard Sean wanted to raise his share to seventy-five percent, his face immediately filled with bitterness. "Sean, I only got thirty percent before. That really isn't much. I have to prepare the ingredients for you on time, and I have to sell them too. All of that involves a certain amount of risk."
"You'll earn less from each bottle, but there will be more bottles. You'll actually make more overall. There's no need to cry poor to me."
"All right, all right."
Andy sounded reluctant, but there was still delight in his eyes. Just as Sean had said, he was giving up five percent of the profit per bottle, but he would gain the profits from five additional potions. It was definitely worthwhile—extremely worthwhile, in fact.
With the matter settled, Andy left.
Blaise played with Kulkan for a while before returning to his own room to sleep.
Only then did Sean open the panel and look at what he had gained from today's adventure and his Duel with the Troll!
