Jin'en joined Red Letter and learned to control his spatial rift while growing close to Daffodil, Broken Rainbow, and Porsette. After Daffodil left, Jin'en took on her assignments, and he and Porsette completed their first mission together by stealing the Devouring Pattern ring.

• Inanna found Jin'en hiding in an abandoned apartment, restrained the crack on his wrist, and brought him to Red Letter’s mansion.
• Jin'en began training with Daffodil and learned that fear made his spatial rift expand, while Broken Rainbow tested his control and grew closer to him.
• At the White Whale auction, Jin'en’s wrist markings resonated with an anomaly mirror and space anchoring diagram, and he later used Spatial Folding to follow Daffodil after she stabbed Inanna.
• Jin'en told Daffodil there was no place for her in Red Letter, gave her his saved Fons, and urged her to leave, and he then asked Inanna for Daffodil’s assignments and networks.
• Jin'en completed his first assassination and helped Broken Rainbow deal with Porsette, who tried to escape training and later asked Jin'en to be her big brother.
• Jin'en trained Porsette in footwork as Broken Rainbow challenged how carefully he treated her, and Inanna assigned Jin'en and Broken Rainbow to kill Hermann Voss and retrieve Return to Zero.
• Jin'en collapsed space around Hermann and let Mili leave, then cared for Broken Rainbow’s cracked feet while Porsette secretly watched them.
• Inanna sent Porsette to steal the Devouring Pattern ring, with Jin'en waiting nearby, after Porsette found two thieves in the collection room, Jin'en killed them and drove away with her and the ring.

Jin'en and Porsette tracked Prism’s efforts to obtain her teleportation coordinates while Jin'en discovered and concealed a dark power that devoured matter. After recovering Prism’s surveillance records and disrupting its Old Port District network, Jin'en refused an offer to join the organization and prepared to train his new ability.

• Inanna assigned Broken Rainbow to train Porsette, while Jin'en helped her build teleportation destinations and uncovered men hired to obtain her coordinates.
• Jin'en discovered his dark power and tested the black rod it created, then pursued Prism’s network with Porsette and Broken Rainbow as they traced its surveillance operations and recovered records.
• Jin'en and Broken Rainbow retrieved Prism’s photographs and negatives, while Inanna planned for Porsette to leave the estate under Broken Rainbow’s protection.
• Jin'en, Broken Rainbow, and Porsette tracked Old Zheng to Unheard-of Bay and the old port, recovering surveillance files and copies while allowing him to leave.
• Jin'en infiltrated Wastebasket’s cubicle and broke the perception barrier at Wu Xun’s pawnshop, where Broken Rainbow and Porsette helped recover more of Prism’s contacts.
• Inanna confronted Jin'en about hiding his dark ability and urged him to train it, while Porsette offered to support him if he faced Prism’s superiors.
• Jin'en, Broken Rainbow, and Porsette captured Prism’s Old Port operative, who revealed that Wastebasket was alive on a fishing boat and offered Jin'en a way to contact Prism.
• Jin'en refused Prism’s offer to join, arranged for Daffodil to watch for Wastebasket’s boat, and agreed to train the black rod while taking Broken Rainbow or Porsette with him when he left the mansion.
