The legend of death at a touch stood in stark contrast to the confusion in the girl's clear eyes. Amid immense panic and a trace of inexplicable impulse, he took that hand-the withering of life he had expected never came, only a warm, soft touch against his fingertips.
The moment the curse was lifted, Luo Li watched the light in Castorice's eyes as she safely touched a pothos leaf for the first time, and an unprecedented sense of responsibility welled up within him. From then on, the focus of his life shifted from the battlefield arena to this saintess from another world. Teaching her to use modern appliances and taking risks to resolve her undocumented status-each challenge was far more real than any game stage, and he was far more willing to undertake it.
