Lin Shen stole a Mutated Ascension Egg from a Ring Mountain, struggled to keep it from overheating, and eventually returned it to the planet for safekeeping. Back home, he found Lin Miao unusually dejected and holding what appeared to be a spirit base.

• Lin Shen watched the mutated Triceratops drive off the pterosaur, then discovered a Mutated Ascension Egg in the Triceratops's hollow after it left.
• Lin Shen sent the Evil Dragon into the Ring Mountain to retrieve the egg, and it returned with its claws partly melted by the heat.
• Lin Shen had Ji Weisi move the egg away from the Ring Mountain, then teleported it to his room when his return countdown ended.

After Wan Nianbei died during his failed ascension, Lin Miao mourned him and kept the unfinished spirit foundation he left behind. Wan Guotao led the Wan Family to Lin Shen’s home to seize it, but Lin Shen and Lin Miao vanished when he attacked, leaving Wan Guotao wondering how they had obtained a Teleportation Device.

• Lin Miao told Lin Shen that Wan Nianbei had died after his ascension failed, leaving only an unfinished spirit foundation.

Bai Shenfei discovered the Wan family intended to kill the siblings to appease a Di Man Princess, then left to seek help from Lin Xiangdong at Blackbird Base.

• Instructor Mu gave Hai Dasiu the Asura Training Camp deed in exchange for her help, but she returned it after revealing that twelve Wan Ascenders, including Wan Shuiliu, waited outside Seahorn Base.

Wei Changqing refused to leave Sky City’s defensive line, so Wei Wufu set out for Seahorn Base himself, with Ouyang Yudu joining after learning that A Tian was Lin Shen.

• Lin Shen discovered that damaging and reforging his carapace during Super Gene Evolution increased its hardness until the evolution ended, and his strength rose to 57.

• Ximen Swordsman rode through the desert and found Lin Shen and Lin Miao beside the corpses of more than a thousand crystal warriors.
• Ximen Swordsman recognized Lin Shen by scent as the Ruthless Person and challenged him to settle their dispute.
• Lin Shen offered Ximen Swordsman the corpses and several bags of Gene Mutation Fluid, but Ximen Swordsman insisted that he wanted to rob rather than accept charity.

• Wan Guotao and Lu Chengxue waited thirty days for Lin Shen and Lin Miao, intending to kill them and recover Wan Nianbei's unfinished life foundation.

• Liu Zhong charged with his lightning-infused hammer, but Lin Shen showed him the Netherworld Underworld Wolf's smiling image and stabbed him through the throat with Dead Powder.
• Lin Shen revealed the image to Wan Shuiliu and the other Ascenders, leaving them momentarily bewitched, and rushed toward them.
