By the time Yvette arrived on her giant bat with her troops, Duke Eugene's camp had already spread across the entire area outside the city.
Yvette's gaze swept over the dense clusters of tents and the soldiers moving back and forth between them, and she quickly estimated the scale of his forces. At least thirty thousand, perhaps more.

Yvette found that somewhat puzzling. "They're only Tribesmen left over after the cold disaster. Is this really necessary?"
Soon, she received the latest intelligence from the officials who came to greet her.
Dwarf banners had appeared over in the Northern Territory. This war no longer seemed to be a simple matter of clearing out the backyard.
Duke Eugene received her inside the city.
"Your subordinate Yvette has come by order of my mistress, Eleanor, to deal with the traitor Louisa," Yvette said, dropping to one knee, her voice cool. "And to assist Your Grace in pacifying the Northern Territory."
Eugene nodded and offered a few polite words as well. "It has been a long time since a traitor appeared among our Blood Clan. I believe there must be other reasons behind it. Since she dared betray the Empire, she will inevitably pay the price. Yvette, take your people to the eastern side and rest for now. The army will still need several days before it marches."
Yvette accepted the order and withdrew.
In her view, Duke Eugene seemed to want to gather every force into his hands before crushing them in one decisive push.
