Swordfish had disappeared.
As planned, he was the main firefighting force. He should have gone down, cleared out the Kees along the way, taken a quick look at the situation on the seafloor, then surfaced to report back.
The current scale of the Kees was no longer something one person could wipe out completely. Linden knew that perfectly well, and he had never expected Swordfish to handle everything alone.
But half a day passed, and the Sword Saint neither surfaced within the Fungal Carpet's sensing range, nor died and respawned back in the Mushroom Garden.
Had he been captured? Or was he trapped somewhere?
Linden felt the chance of him being captured was low. No matter what, he was still a Sword Saint. Surely he wouldn't be beaten by a swarm of bugs so badly that he couldn't even press [Self-Destruct] in time, right?
While waiting for the Sword Saint to return, Piggy had not been idle either.
The true main force of the navy began gathering toward this stretch of sea, and the Floating Mushroom Fungal Carpet on the surface also changed shape under Linden's will.
The mycelium that had originally spread across the water began multiplying wildly under the drive of mana, but instead of spreading into a carpet, it twisted together and spiraled downward, growing into Mycelium Pillars that stretched toward the seafloor.
These Mycelium Pillars were extensions of the Fungal Carpet. Although they were a net loss in terms of mana consumption, they could provide the diving main force with all the support the Fungal Carpet could offer.
They hung down from the sea surface, blue-green Fluorescence slowly flowing along their shafts, like countless glowing tentacles dangling from the sky, clump after clump, cluster after cluster, piercing into the dark deep sea.
