South of Oath City, on a stretch of Fungal Carpet outside the Slime-stricken zone, magic gathered and a teleportation array emerged.
Four boxes sliced open by space were teleported in, and the items inside spilled out through the ruptures with a clattering crash.
Many of the items inside had been destroyed during teleportation, but a small few had luckily survived.
The Pujis who had long since been standing ready immediately went forward to rummage through them, and soon found what they needed—a few Recording Crystals, a bright-red cloak, and a fresh vocal cord.
One Puji stuffed all these things into its belly, then burrowed into the Underground Network beside it and dug toward Oath City.
This network would burrow all the way deep underground, reach directly beneath Oath City, and then spiral upward. It was a helpless measure meant to avoid harassment from the Slimes.

Somewhere in the city, silver light shot into the sky, and arrows fell like stars.
Atop the tower, runes flared. Number Ten waved a tentacle, and a huge bolt of Thunderbolt struck head-on.
Darean stood on the Abyss Beast's back, controlling a heaven-engulfing blood tide that swept both attacks completely inside.
The blood tide exploded. Great sheets of blood that had utterly lost their life force turned into a rain of blood that fell across the battlefield. The entire blood tide shrank a little, but in the end, it blocked the attacks.

Realizing it would be hard to break through from the front, Sophia moved quickly through the city, planning to find a better position for a sneak attack.
As for Number Ten, it activated the Magic Tower again, drawing magic from the entire city and unleashing attacks to obstruct
