It will be available tomorrow at noon.
The word count for the new book was indeed a bit high, mainly because the book's data hadn't been very good. It didn't meet the requirements for trial promotion in the first two weeks after signing the contract, and it only barely made it onto the trial promotion list after reaching 100,000 words.
Then it remained lukewarm, going through two rounds of recommendations, with around 900 additional reads.
It should have been released around the same time, but I thought there were still two rounds of recommendations left, and maybe it could make it to the top three in the rankings, so I decided to wait a little longer.
As a result, in the third round of recommendations, the follow-up reading remained stagnant, and even now in the fourth round, the follow-up reading is still around one thousand.
There's nothing we can do about it; with only 4,000 words a day for a slice-of-life romance novel, it's really hard for readers to stay interested in reading further.
Therefore, unsurprisingly, they lost the PK against Sanjiang.
The word count has reached nearly 220,000 words.
Then let's release it naked (without any packaging).
I'm quite calm about it. After all, I write slow-burn romance novels. Even if the beginning is not good, as long as the quality doesn't collapse, I might still have a chance to turn things around if I keep writing.
Let me explain the update status after the app was released.
As you can all see, the author uses traditional hand-typed writing techniques. Although this type of slice-of-life story may seem superficial to readers, with little substantial content per chapter and the main plot not progressing much, it actually requires considerable effort in terms of dialogue and various small details. Otherwise, it can easily become a boring, rambling account.
Therefore, my typing speed is not very fast.
After it's published, I'll try my best to maintain at least 6,000 words of updates every day. Whether it's split into one or two chapters depends on the specific content. As for the update time, it will probably be around 11 PM.
Of course, there are also rules for adding extra chapters.
I won't do a bonus chapter for the first subscription; the number would probably look pretty bad. I'll just do bonus chapters for monthly tickets and bonus chapters for donations instead.
One extra chapter for every 100 monthly votes, one extra chapter for every 10,000 donations, and ten extra chapters for every patron of the Alliance Leader.
Each update is calculated based on at least two thousand words.
Finally, let's take this opportunity to talk about this book.
The harem novel with three female protagonists will remain the same, and there will be no stock market-like elements.
The pacing of the subsequent plot will certainly be slow, after all, I've only written the third character design in over 200,000 words.
As some readers may have noticed, I'm not entirely focused on the benefits the idea of a different character each week brings to the protagonist. Instead, I value the interesting storylines that arise from the interactions between these different characters and the female leads, as well as other supporting characters. The characters are a bonus, a plot driver, but definitely not the main storyline.
The main storyline can only ever be the romance, after all, this is a love story.
Therefore, not all character settings come with the ability to "show off and slap someone in the face." There are also character settings with negative effects. Of course, the purpose of negative character settings is not to torment the protagonist, but to make it possible to write some more interesting plots.
For example, if the protagonist is a character with the attribute of "absolute honesty," and can only tell the truth, what interesting things will happen between him and the heroines in a specific main storyline?
For example, consider the "player" character. If the real world were a game from the protagonist's perspective, what actions would he take?
For example, wouldn't a "pervert" character design allow for some reasonable fan service while also advancing the storyline with the female leads in unexpected ways?
Of course, depending on the needs of the plot, there may even be characters with Alzheimer's disease, romantic heroes, or dying people.
Normal everyday romance novels can't be written like this. Often, when a strong plot is needed to drive the story forward—for example, when the conflict between the female leads is irreconcilable—the only option is to use a mechanically inspired accident like a "car accident."
The various character designs gave me a lot of room for creative maneuvering, allowing me to achieve a harem ending in a reasonable and interesting way without deviating from the main plot.
In addition, it adds a lot of unexpected fun to daily life.
After all, the concept of a persona is very broad, and I can easily list some negative examples.
[Severe directionally challenged], [Paranoia], [Paranoia], [Nihilism], [Mysterious self-confidence] (This protagonist already possesses these traits).
Of course, there are also positive aspects.
[Master Chef], [ Fitness Expert ], [Musician], [Genius]...
It could even be supernatural.
[The Magician], [The Sleepless], [The Fourth Wall Consciousness], [The Beast Whisperer]...
By the way, the " Fitness Expert " can actually be categorized under the supernatural. Spoiler alert: this is the next character.
In short, I have a strong desire to write about every new character, which is why I haven't thought about giving up even though the data is not good right now.
Because I feel like I'm writing something interesting.
I hope you find it interesting.
Finally, thank you to all the readers who have made it this far. I hope we can continue this journey together after the book is officially released; the story has only just begun.
